Conan O'Brien opened his show Friday (taped just hours after Tim Russert collapsed and died in Washington) with a tribute to Russert, who he said welcomed him to NBC and always reminded him of his Irish-Catholic uncles. Russert's son, Luke, was an intern at "Late Night" and, as Conan showed, Russert appeared on the program last summer mocking his son's internship choice: "I said, 'What?!' I said, 'Are you wait-listed with "To Catch a Predator?"'"

Beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul. Tim Russert will be missed. Thank you, Conan, for saying goodbye to your friend with such class. The prayers of so many of us go out to Tim's family, friends and colleagues.

this was nicely done... rather than just talking about Tim, Conan showed a few clips that lets people get a small glimpse of the humility and warm nature of him... a fitting epitaph, thoughtfully done by Conan.

He reminds me of a turtle. He reminds me of potatoes. He reminds me of Hoss. So big, so good, so humble, so everyone, so special, so necessary, so irreplaceable. So missed. Thanks Conan.

Conan - I thought that was an incredibly nice tribute to Tim. I can't seem to get
enough of these tributes about Tim. I think that's because it's deeply comforting
to see how loved he was by everyone. I find myself saying to myself: "self....take
a lesson here about how to live life". I'll miss him - thanks.

Because I don't watch his show (too late for me) I don't know Conan and I had no idea he had that much class. I'm impressed.

I don't watch Conan, but that was nice.

RIP Mr. Russert. Tomorrow will be a sad day without you on "Meet The Press".

I didn't much care for the "gotcha" aspect of his interviews - or the sofball questions to repubs.

He was a decent and respected guy it seems.

Still sinking in. It happend so fast you know?..no 1st, 2nd, 3rd heart attack - and we know he could
go at anytime. Has to remind us all how frail it all is for each of us, and family, and country.

Vote smart this time people.
