Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

As an avid supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Debra Bartoshevich is not alone in her frustration over Clinton's defeat.

She's not alone in refusing to support Barack Obama.

I could care less who this woman votes for, but she has the nerve to say that she is "kinda disenfranchised"? No, she was free to vote and her candidate lost. Her comment is a slap in the face to ANY person who fought for the right to vote. On top of that, she has the gall to evoke Susan B. Anthony's name? The women who threw black under the bus in order to secure the vote for women (and lost)? Unbelievable.

She may feel disenfranchised now, but how will she feel when she finds out she's supporting a guy who is so anti women on the issues important to women?

Perhaps that doesn't matter to her. Really sad.

How can it matter to her ... she's "angry" ... been dissed, been sexually offended, been called uneducated, unread ... well, her candidate caused her much grief! Wonder why she's not angry at HER!

Somebody should first ask her to define "disenfranchised" and then ask her how exactly she was disenfranchised. My feeling is this idiot doesn't even know what the word means.

Granted; Republicans are known for party unity, even when some of them disagree with their brethren...

Of course, it's okay for Democrats to not stand united... except for times like this.

Wow, a pledged delegate for Hillary Clinton in a state that went to Obama by 17 points now favors his new opponent, John McCain, who he leads by 13 points. She must love backing a loser. I almost admire her naive political fearlessness.

No loss. She would have voted for McCain in the end anyway. Unfortunately for McCain, women collectively are too intelligent and far along on the evoluntionary scale to vote for anti-woman candidate McCain. Sure, there are a few devolved morons, racist like Harriet Christian and this Debbie Dummy who in the end take their direction from White men and would have voted for the White guy anyway. But those stupid White male-directed-womens' numbers are miniscule and they are not worth the headlines HuffPo continues to give them. So at the Democratic Convention a handful of moron, racist women will vote for McCain. Isn't that special -- a couple of stupid, racist women vote for the guy who opposes the right of women to choose and who oposes providing women (and children) with their health care needs?

This person is effectively no longer a delegate to the Convention. Even if she goes, she won't be allowed in the convention hall.

At the state Democratic Party convention, party members, including Clinton supporters, unanimously passed a resolution asking the national party not to seat Bartoshevich at the Denver convention. Wineke spoke in favor of the resolution.

i'm so sick of people saying they were disenfranchised...
they voted, it counted, but came up short in the contest...
that's not disenfranchisement.... i blame hillary fo this for going on the attack with that line for weeks about forida and michigan..

we can still do this and win the general dems... let's go!!!

Well, I know someone who WON'T be a Democratic delegate come 2008, Debra Bartoshevich. You don't remain in the Democratic Party and vote for the Republican in the general election, not if you are an elected official. Get ready to look for another job.

So basically she supports Hillary, but nothing that Hillary actually stands for.

With friends like that, who needs friends?

This person certainly has the right to vote for whomever she wants. However, it is obvious that nobody can be a delegate for one party yet vote for a candidate from the other party. If Bartoshevich wasn't happy with the Democratic candidate for POTUS then she should have simply resigned her delegate status. She chose instead to humiliate herself in the most public way possible. In other words, by remaining a Democratic delegate and declaring her support for McCain she has invited the contempt and ridicule of all Democrats. Her behavior speaks volumes about her intelligence, her reasoning abilities, and her ability to make informed decisions.

She has done a great disservice to feminists and, indeed, all thinking women.
