Gingrich Unglued

Reacting to the recent decision of the Supreme Court of the United States of America - who recently affirmed, by 5-4 decision, our Constitutional rights of due process of law, accorded by the 14th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America - former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich came visibly unglued, and called the decision the worst since Dred Scott.

[WATCH.]

GINGRICH: I will say, I think the recent Supreme Court decision to turn over to a local district judge decisions of national security and life and death that should be made by the president and the congress is the most extraordinarily arrogant and destructive decision the Supreme Court has made in it's history.

REID: In it's history?

GINGRICH: In it's history. Worse than Dred Scott, for the following reason: The court has now knowingly stepped in, this morning's newspaper say, smugglers had actually gotten the design of a nuclear weapon, that we now have the evidence that people out there had a nuclear weapon design. And this court is saying that any random district judge, based on whatever their personal caprice is, whatever their personal ideological bias, can intervene with a terrorist in such a way.

Gingrich went on to slam Obama for supporting the decision. "The problem with Obama is that he's wrong...He applauded this court decision. This court decision is a disaster and it could cost us a city." Then Gingrich referred to district judges - all of them! - as "nutcake."

Naturally, it's Gingrich, and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who are nutcake, and I wonder if I can sum up why that is any better then the headline of a recent post on Jezebel: "According to Scalia, People Only Get Rights When There's Nothing At Stake." Nope! Turns out I could not have possibly said it better!

Newt still is working hard for the authortirian state (authoritarian being a less threatening word than the more accurate 'Nazi'). His penultimate outburst revealed his opposition to free speech in particular and to freedom generally. He and his fellow travelers are traitors, plain and simple; they hate the Constitution. We have come to a very bad pass as a nation when our leaders, including some Supreme Court justices, are incensed by the idea of habeus corpus.

Can ANYONE tell me what the HELL this means? It's incoherent blathering! There's not one complete, intelligible English sentence in there.

Yet more evidence that neo-conservative thoughts destroy brain cells....

GINGRICH IS POLITICALLY CHALLENGING THE LAW. CIVIL LAW PREVAILS UNLESS THE ACTS OCCUR ON THE BATTLEFIELD OR DURING OCCUPANCY OF AN AREA AND THE ENEMY IS A COMBATANT. WHEN SOME ONE CONSPIRES TO BLOW UP OR ROB A BUILDING THAT IS IN ONE OF OUR CITIES THIS DOES NOT COME UNDER MILITARY LAW.
CAPTURED SPIES ARE TRIED BY CIVILIAN COURTS AND NOT MILITARY COURTS

Hey he loved the Supreme court when they decided to disenfranchise Florida and make George W Bush our President..

As always whiny GOP wacks just love using the constitution as toilet wipe.

AS much as people dislike Bush, Gingrich is right about this decision. What is wrong is that Congress did not create a panel to review GITMO cases. This court decision forced the issue, in an incredibly stupid manner, but perhaps the only way they had.

Ehat would be smart is for Congress to intervene and review these cases to keep them out of court.

What could cost us a city, Newt, is messing around over there in Iraq or anywhere in the middle east where we don't have any business being. That is what cost us the towers.

Gingrich wants us to believe that a judge, who has studied law in school, been admitted to the Bar, practiced law, and risen in the profession to be vetted as a judge, is less capable of protecting the rule of law and the Constitution in evaluating the legal status of America's enemies, than the President. Who may have been snorting coke and cheerleading through college, never finished military service, has several failed businesses under his belt, and doesn't like to read.

I rest my case.

And weren't the majority of district judges appointed by Republic administrations? I think that is the case.
Way to support "your guys" Newt!

Didn't they try to put someone on the District Bench who hadn't even tried a case in court?

Why the American people have not descended on Washington DC with pitchforks to chase out criminals like Gingrich, the current administration, et al is a matter of complete mystery to me, and a testament to the mind-numbing hypnotic abilities of electronic media. When are we all going to have had enough?

You see this quote often because of its eternal relevance: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Thomas Jefferson

Well, we tried protesting on the lawn a bunch of times, but it was clear that it meant absolutely nothing to this administration. To tell you the truth, I'm confounded by it on a daily basis. McClellan's book is one of the most damning pieces of smoking gun I've ever read and yet... why are there no criminal charges filed? Treason?? Defying the constitution and lying to engage in an unnecessary war?? WHY ARE THESE MEN NOT IN JAIL???

Obama should start criminal proceedings the day of his inaugural, if you ask me.

Are you really a granny? Just curious. If you are you most be a 21st century granny. Why did I ask--STFU...

LOL. Funny a granny would use it but sometime curse words tend to describe and express ones feelings a little more accurately.

Being a Marine I used a lot of em to make a point--honestly, I used them to make points and "non-points", it was, still is, just vocabulary for us.

I don't recall ever caring what Neanderthal Newt Gingrich said about anything..And I don't anticipate a reversal of the trend.

"Lost an American City".

Arrest this man - he's threatening to blow up one of our cities!!!

Actually, thanks NEWT - can you give us a name? We know the cabal is planning something before November, whether it's attacking Iran, or having some Saudi's fly planes around again. Come ON NEWT, surely you want to save American lives, don't you?

DON'T YOU?

Good question, KOisGOD! I fear that some small town or small city will be sacrificed for the sake of these folks keeping power. They want to keep it that bad. If Obama wins, it would set them back years!

So, we know it will come before Nov 4. The questions are:
How long before? And where? Also, how many should die?

Last time, they got almost 3500. After 7 years, the fear is wearing off on the public, so maybe they feel they gotta pump it up a notch or two.
