Amy Winehouse Rushed To Hospital After Fainting

LONDON — Amy Winehouse fainted Monday at her north London home and was hospitalized, her spokesman said.

Winehouse lost consciousness but an assistant caught her before she hit the ground, spokesman Chris Goodman said.

"She quickly recovered and her father, Mitch, took her to hospital as a precaution," Goodman said in a statement.

Winehouse had spent the afternoon signing autographs for Canadian fans who were standing outside her house. She collapsed after they left.

Goodman said doctors are unsure what caused the collapse and the 24-year-old singer was undergoing tests.

She may stay in the hospital overnight as a precaution, he said.

Winehouse's career has prospered despite wild nights, missed concerts and stints in drug rehab. The Sunday Times newspaper's annual Rich List has estimated her wealth at $20 million.

I didn't want to comment or get too attached to Amy Winehouse because I think her life is going to be a short one, but I do hope someone in that hospital is able to convince her to get some intensive help. She has an unusual talent, and I do wish her well.

Amy Winehouse is a great talent amidst all the mediocre pop music dreck out there right now. I hope she gets help soon and gets her life back on track. It would be such a loss for popular music if she succumbed to her addiction. Get well Amy.

The only thing that should have been cut was that shot of her "Blake, incarcerated". She may have had some emotional problems before meeting him, but she was doing great. Two incredible albums and on her way to the top. Fielder-Civil started her on this downhill slide.
