David Duchovny and wife actress Téa Leoni are moving to New York. They've listed their 6,578-square-foot Malibu ocean-view home for $12 million and expect to be settled back East before their children return to school in the fall.

Leoni has been itching to move back East for some time now, and the Malibu fires -- their home was not damaged but was in the mandatory evacuation zone -- tipped the scales for her, sources say. The two-story house being sold has two swimming pools -- one a regulation lap pool. There are five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a separate gym. The 5 1/2 -acre property includes membership in the La Costa Beach Club. There is a two-room guesthouse over a three-car garage. The house was built in 1996.

The property sits two doors from one bought earlier this year by country singer Kenny Chesney. He paid $7.4 million and then put the house back on the market at $7.95 million about six weeks later. It remains unsold.

DD and his Mrs. can do no wrong in my eyes.

Good for you Duchovny. You deserve everything you get - including a beautiful wife and gorgeous kids and talent and a blockbuster summer movie.

Just don't vote for Obama.

When I was a young-un, about 40 years ago, there used to be a thing called the commons. It was land that was meant for all to enjoy. These Malibu homes sit on the beast southern beaches and keep all of us from seeing these wonderful lands, well till they built these pompous buildings for usually overpaid, undertalented stars.

What kind of topsy-turvy world is this where mediocrities like these two are living in a 12 million dollar home.

Look at that body language. His body is square with the pelvis pointing away from her, and she is holding on for dear life, with her hair in her face, a metaphor for his disinterest in her. Sometimes, when you think you are the last cow, you aren't.

How those tennis lessons going?

OMG, you’re one of those snogger people! I didn't know you guys were seriously still around? I remember you guys from back when The X-Files was first on 15 years ago. You were the fangirls so confused about difference between fiction and reality that you actually believed that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson should be a couple. It’s been what?--9 or 10 years since Duchovny and Leoni got married and you’re STILL pissed off he didn't marry Gillian Anderson like you thought he should. And how embarassing is it that you're hanging your hopes that his marriage will fall apart based on body language in a single SIX YEAR OLD PICTURE! Man. that’s just really seriously sad for you!

How could someone leave such a beautiful, peaceful, idyllic place for such a dirty, crowded, crazy place that is top of the hit list for every wacko terrorist group?

Their house is ground zero for California summer/fall wild fires.
I think this is why they are moving? They almost lost it last year to wild fires. It is beautiful there in spring and winter but summers are now a crap shoot. Lots of Santa Ana wind driven wildfires in the last few years in this area. It is built in the very worst possible place. The property is at the top of a steep brushy WINDY canyon. Also, they did not clear the trees around from the buildings which is fire fuel.

Look it up. Go to Google Earth and type in Carbon Mesa Rd, Malibu, CA.
It is the house with the lawns and lap pool at the very top. Private drive way is - Lorbu Rd. Sean Penn's house is on the top to the right. Penn's house is just an empty foundation and empty pool now, since the house burned down from the massive 1993 Old Topanga Fire. He never re-built.

Again, this is a deadly fire area. The fire insurance will be insane on a $12000000+ house.

God Bless David and Tea. They realize that Los Angeles is a dying city. An island of opulence hiding a sea of poverty.

New Yorkers moved out west and started your industry. The banks in NYC finance it to this day. Unlike Gov Shwantz, New York has hefty tax incentives to keep work in New York.

It's time we take our industry back. New Yorkers like Alec Baldwin, and Duchovney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julianne Moore, and many others are following suit. We all stayed in that pit of traffic for the work.

Now we are coming home. If you asked WORKING people in LA, if they would move to New York if the same jobs were available, 70% of them would move tomorrow. With 5 dollar gas it is now cheaper to live in NYC.

LA is a dying city. Just watch how the studios are selling out their partners in the WGA and SAG. These morons don't know how to protect their own meal ticket. Many marketing geniuses graves are engraved with the warning to keep your talent and writers close. These ego manics think everyone is stupid so someone as stupid as Les Moonves can run CBS into the ground with record losses and they extend his contract. Someone has to steal the stockholders money.

There's plenty of "life west of the Hudson," just not very much of it is worth living in Lalaland. SoCal is a desert, surviving on pilfered, undrinkable water and constant air conditioning. If it wasn't for the IQ transfusions from east coast migrants, there'd be nothing whatsoever to recommend the place. :-)

Ownership has it's privileges and you've lost your leash. We still own you, and yes it's funny. The films came back from Canada, but back to NYC.

Spielberg moved to NYC saying that he was tired of the lazy crews in La that always pull overtime. He said he didn't have one hour of overtime when he worked in NYC or London.

Pathetic posers. Yeah you hear it from obnoxious New Yorkers all the time because they run things in LA and are pissed offf that you flakey passive aggressive goobers are their neighbors. Watch Entourage. It's the kid in the candy store in a world of morons and strippers. In the end your just meat.

So you're actually claiming that 70 percent of ALL working people in Los Angeles would move to New York tomorrow if they could get the same jobs?
Do you do a survey and interview every single employed person in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles is NOT a dying city. It's a beautiful, fantastic and exciting place to live.
It's a cliche to call it a "dying" city...and what does Les Moonves have to do with it? He's not the mayor, you know!
Obviously you have a personal grievance against L.A. and you're using phoney statistics to justify your discontent.

I dig those two as actors. You have to respect monogamy with child-rearing in the movie business.

With Barack Obama as president, the wealthy few will pay more taxes! As it should be...
