Monday night's "Verdict" with Dan Abrams featured its nightly takedown of "media hypocrisy, agendas and the perils of live tv" in "Beat the Press." First up was a clip of Cal Thomas on Fox News discussing the "angry" black women frequently portrayed on television in a segment on Michelle Obama. Later, a CNN anchor was befuddled about the link between flushing toilets, water and fire.

No, they aren't trying to make Obama look weak. They want to make Obama MAD so they can say "look at that angry black man who wants to be president so he can get all his muslim friends together and whip our tales."

That's all. But Obama is above all that smoke and mirrors.

I hope he does the smart thing and responds to these attacks on Michelle by publicly pointing out exactly what they're doing and what they're trying to get him to do.

You know what? If I were a black woman I'd be feelin' kind of angry right now. Man. I just had a vision: Let's just let the angry black women take over; cripes almighty they'd probably open a can of whoopass on Washington DC and knock some darn sense into the rest of us. Citizens of the USA could just sit back, watch and cheer. I'll make the popcorn.

Yes, I and my fellow Angry Black Sistas, would, with hands on our hips and broomsticks:

- Go upside the heads of BOTH the Palestinians AND Israelis: "We are TIRED of Y'ALL's fighting;
tear down the wall, go back to the 1967 borders, and NEITHER of you gets Jerusalem; it becomes
a World City, administered by a Council comprised of equal numbers of Palestinians and Israelis,
and presided over by the Dalai Lama

- Initiate Manhattan Project II: Total US Energy Independence in 10 years - solar, wind, geothermal,
nuclear (yah, I said it).

- Initiate WPA II: Rebuild/repair EVERY bridge, sewer, electrical grid, road, dam, etc in the US!

Oh, there'd be some "whoop ass", for sure!

It is clear that Cal Thomas' interactions with Black women have been very limited or possibly non-existent. All of the women that he named (i.e. Maxine Waters and Cynthia McKinney) are -- or were -- elected public officials representing some of the most economically depressed and underresourced congressional districts in the country. In representing predominately Black and poor congressional districts, they could not afford to placate to whites in demanding that their constituents be heard and included in policy decision-making at every level of government. That's not being angry, that's being responsive and accountable for your constituents.

So true! But, that's the "educated" analysis! The veily coded attempt to paint Michelle O (of all people) angry was meant for Fox's particular audience ... who might also be those same "hard-working white americans" spoke of during this process! And, I must not fail to mention that those same "hard-workers" were in fact also referred to by many MSM "experts" as being uneducated, unread and well, not "elists!"

Witness, Condi Rice pudding was not mentioned! She's noticeably black, quite strong minded, getting "certain messages" across ... hence, that's "one" of great Utility!!

My thing, if black women were in fact "angry," remembering the stories of old (and some very recent), they and their ancestors sure did/do eat well ... huh!

Wow. It's amazing how the "angry white person," Cal Thomas tries to associate every demonic, disruptive, dishonest and disrespective notion to the Obama family. Their not angry he is.
probably because he's bald, stupid and no one is trying to elect him for anything.

Sure their angry, seems they have a right to be. Of course, we can always bring up the "torch wielding mob" Hillary promoted, and why their legitimate anger will/and could derail the present democratic nominee, but not women who have a legitimate right. Give it up, FOX NEWS in itself is enough to make anyone angry. It's amazing how Carly Fiorina outright lied regarding why women would do better to vote for John McCain. She was in her typical, "we'll get him back mode" Indignant and furious that she could not get her way. Carly and the rest of them desire to live vicariously through Hillary, WILL GET OVER IT. Or they can choose John McCain. If they choose to ruin their live because Hillary didn't win so be it. But put the blame where it lies. Hillary always said the superdelegates would decide.
She thought she had the lock because so many of them were her friends turns out they weren't .
Again Hillary lost. They throughly recognized her "elbow my way in approach"and it served to do nothing but turn them off. Her constant repetion to her 18 million votes, was an obvious turn off and again it backfired on her. Obama will win regardless of Hillary and her threats, and these angry women who gave their rights and benefits away will continue to feel like the fools they are. Listen,
Hillary is a millionaire. She will be fine, she doesn't need or care about anything McCain proposes.

I saw that on the old Saturday Night Live.

John Belushi, Dan Akroyd and Garret Morris sitting in on a television panel discussion on "Womens Problems" Not a woman in sight.

"And another thing. They whine all the time!" "Always want you to pick up your clothes."

It was hysterical.

Does Fox know they are plagerizing SNL?

I heard a good self test: When you hear words being said by someone (for example, Michelle Obama) that make you feel uncomfortable, imagine someone else saying the same thing (perhaps Elizabeth Edwards) and see if your reaction is the same. It doesn't have to be that we are racists. It could be just that she is new to us and our reaction is filtered differently.

I think your self test is a good way for all of us, black or white, to measure our reactions to the words or deeds of others. As an African American, I have reflected on the premise of your test (imagining someone else saying or doing the same thing) in reading many of the posts I've read on this blogsite. For example, when Michelle said, "For the first time in my adult life I'm really proud of my country," most of us understood what Michelle meant by her words. However, those who twisted her words into something anti-American, would not have done so if the same words had been spoken by Cindy McCain or any other white woman. Their love for our country is taken for granted ... because they are white. Senator Obama has been assaulted in a way that is unprecedented in the history of our presidential elections by questions about his patriotism and his faith. These attacks, on Michelle and Senator Obama, are particularly difficult for African Americans simply because, each time they are attacked because they are black, we feel like we are being attacked, because we too are black, and it becomes very personal and painful to witness. Thank you for suggesting the self test. When we can see others as we see ourselves, hopefully we can begin to get beyond the superficial racial barriers that divide us.

Cindy McCain has every right to be proud of her country.
- She is an heiress
- She is married to a senator running for president
- She is a philanthropist who set up a charity to steal drugs to feed her drug habit.
- She was never charged with stealing the drugs
- She went to rehab
- She stole recipes (For GOSH Sake!)
- She is still rich
- She is still married to a senator
- She is still proud of her country.

Oh, absolutely. If Obama wasn't black, this absurd "experience" meme wouldn't have been floated, since Obama demonstrably has more experience by any measure than many previous candidates who were *not* called out as "inexperienced." It's unprecedented. Did Hillary haul out "inexperienced" against John Edwards? No. Did Biden and Dodd haul out "inexperienced" against Hillary, who has less legislative experience than Barack? No. It's simply not done, because it's beyond the pale to call a major federal officeholder "inexperienced." But it was useful shorthand for Barack, because what they want to do is say "Barack is black, so he's stupid." But they're not allowed to say that, so they use the words "unqualified" or "inexperienced" instead.

Centuries of slavery, another century of virtual slavery, then decades of thinking all of their number are single moms constantly waiting to be a booty call. Why would black women be angry?

Not respect, couldn't be that. We let Oprah get respect, they wouldn't ALL want it would they?

So if they are single mothers, why blame ONLY the white guys, which, sorry, is what they do. Blame who got them pregnant and also, hey a little SELF-RESPONSIBILITY and DISCIPLINE.

You act like black women are the only ones who get pregnant out of wedlock, which is just not true. And, I haven't heard too many black women who are single mothers blaming white men for that unless the father was white. And, believe me, they do blame a black man if that's who got them pregnant. These women show tremendous responsiblity by raising good, responsible citizens all by themselves - no easy task.

Is George Bush responsible? Dick Cheney? And discipline - did Cindy McCain show discipline when she stole drugs from her charity to feed her habit? Or I suppose Mark Foley was showing discipline when he engaged in sexual e-mail conversations with young boys. Or Bill Clinton when he was having sexual relations with Monica Lewinski? Or how about all those Catholic priests? Why don't they show self-responsibility and discipline?

You don't see it that way because they're white and therefore must be the exception instead of the rule.

The poster said that black women who are *not* single moms waiting to be a booty call might be angry at having that stereotype used against them. Please read more carefully.
