Joan Rivers

LONDON - Joan Rivers' salty tongue got her booted from a British daytime talk show in the middle of its live broadcast.

Rivers used two expletives while talking about Russell Crowe as a guest host on the live gab-fest "Loose Women." She was asked to leave during a commercial break.

WATCH HER SWEAR, OR SCROLL TO KEEP READING;

The 75-year old comedian said in a statement Tuesday she was sorry for the swearing, ["Yes, I swore, and I'm so fucking sorry,"] and assumed that a censor would be able to "bleep" the words out.

Then she cracked wise, saying the incident reminded her of her wedding night _ because she was asked to leave in the middle of that, too.

I think she should be married to McCain because he obviously mistook Cindy for Joan.

She's so funny. One of my fav JR jokes: At a cocktail party, she sees her gynecologist, walks up to him and says hello...an uncomfortable moment, as she can tell he doesn't recognize her. So she pulls up the front of her dress and he's like, "Oh! JOAN..!"

Mr. Crowe will have to learn that there are some rivers (and Rivers) that are too dangerous to cross.

Joan Rivers can be a pain in the arse but her best humor is when she is self deprecating.

One of her old jokes when she first started out that I still remember is 'I was so ugly when I was born that the doctor took one look at me and slapped my mother.'

(doctors used to slap new babies on the bottom to get them breathing in the old days)

Try this one. Complaining about her love life with her husband Edgar. 'The only reason I got pregnant with my daughter was because Edgar tosses and turns in his sleep a lot.'

Thats the Joan Rivers I remember. I haven't watched her in decades.

She is not on TV much (thank the powers that be) so a fair amount of time passes between her appearances. But each time you see her it is obvious she has had more plastic surgery done.
She is only a step behind the famous Catwoman Jocelyn Wildenstein. Damn she is ugly.

Maybe it's time we started watching our language and not depending on it being "bleeped". Even if they were able to censor the words, the audience heard them. Think of Richard Pryor and George Carlin and every other comedian of their era. They were dirty as anything in their live shows, but were on TV all the time, and never had to be bleeped. Gee, maybe they new something that Joan doesn't: restraint. And maybe that lack of tact is why everyday people feel they can say whatever they want as loud as they want, whether in traffic, or on their cell phone, or just talking to the person next to them. Look around before saying something offensive. Or maybe we should just stop being an R rated society and start respecting each other.

Hi everyone,

This comment is completely off topic but I wanted to share with the Huffington Post editors and readers a discovery of an awesome website:

http://www.freeworldu.org/static/index.aspx

It is run by a non-profit group that is trying to provide free education to anyone in the world by using electronic flashcards.

Please look at the website, review it and spread the word. It has such great potential and I know that the Huffington Post can give it the attention it deserves. Thank you!
