Joan Rivers Kicked Off Show For Calling Russell Crowe A "Fucking Shit" (VIDEO)

LONDON - Joan Rivers' salty tongue got her booted from a British daytime talk show in the middle of its live broadcast.

Rivers used two expletives while talking about Russell Crowe as a guest host on the live gab-fest "Loose Women." She was asked to leave during a commercial break.

The 75-year old comedian said in a statement Tuesday she was sorry for the swearing, ["Yes, I swore, and I'm so fucking sorry,"] and assumed that a censor would be able to "bleep" the words out.

Then she cracked wise, saying the incident reminded her of her wedding night _ because she was asked to leave in the middle of that, too.

I quit watching all the red carpet shows when they stopped have Joan and Mellisa do them. They were funny and irrevrent. Now these shows are just boring, boring, boring.

unfortunately this show goes out at lunchtime and the target audience is mums with their pre-school toddlers. If it had been a show after 9pm, when language can get very salty, there would be no problem.

It's amazing to me in democracies which laud their freedom of speech, certain letters arranged in a certain order cannot be uttered. It's all based on the emotional response from those who abhor the letters arranged and ordered such. While claiming to be civilized. we have become some of the most indecent humans, and none of it has anything to do with the utterance of arranged letters, but rather our indencency relates to the views we have of humans other than ourselves. To me the indecency of her remark was that she felt the freedom to dramatically diss someone else. The only funny value was due to the "shock" of hearing those arranged letters uttered, because they are banned. Mean, silly children, aren't we? I say, pooh pooh this doo doo.

The reason why they are not allowed on daytime network TV is because we do not need our children to hear and repeat those words. I highly doubt you would want your small children hearing then using words like that.
I would not watch a show with my son that uses nasty words to describe someone, that is my choice. The networks realize that they will loose many daytime viewers if they show disgusting language. It's not about freedom of speech but about the people that will choose to change the channel if they hear or see certain things with their children present.

Kids hear this language all the time. If not at home, then in public places. I don't particularly care for it, but it is not going to ruin a kid to hear a word they shouldn't use. Do you get as upset when domeone uses the word "ain't" on tv?
Lots of stay at home moms and dads watch soap operas during the day... the kids may not hear the word, but they actually see the act!
