NEW YORK — Curtain up Sept. 18 for Katie Holmes' Broadway debut.

That's the date the former "Dawson's Creek" star and wife of Tom Cruise, begins preview performances in a revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," producer Eric Falkenstein announced Tuesday.

The production, which also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson, officially opens Oct. 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for a limited engagement through Jan. 11.

"All My Sons" concerns businessman Joe Keller (Lithgow) whose factory supplied defective cylinder parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it was his business partner who went to jail for the mistake.

Wiest will play Keller's wife; Wilson, his idealistic son; and Holmes, the son's fiancee and daughter of Keller's disgraced partner. The director is Simon McBurney.

Ticket prices for "All My Sons" will inch higher than usual for a play. The top price for all evening performances as well as the Saturday and Sunday matinees will be $116.50, with Wednesday matinees going for $111.50. That's the same price "Equus," starring Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths, will charge this fall. Both "All My Sons" and "Equus" will charge $251.50 for premium (best seats in the house) tickets for most performances. But it goes higher _ $301.50 _ for holiday weeks such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

By comparison, "August: Osage County," winner of the 2008 Tony Award for best play, currently has a $110 top price for a non-premium ticket. The revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" charges $96.50 and "Boeing-Boeing," the 2008 Tony winner for best play revival, has a top price of $99.50.

$116.00 for a ticket? I know I have not been to a Broadway show in years but that price is ridiculous! For that amount of money I would expect a few free lessons in Scientology thrown in to make it worth my while.

Ninety-two days to convert the critics to you-know-what.

For someone who can't even act? She wouldn't be doing this if she weren't Mrs. Tom Cruise. She stinks. I hate her new nose, and her hair looks just terrible. Stay home and save your money!

She is long past her so called hot days. She is cute, but her body is ugly and the rest of her isn't so good either. Nicole Kidman was much hotter, actually even pregnant she is hotter.

Gonna be a total disaster; that being said, break a leg.

I agree...she stinks! they won't give her anymore movies because she can't act, so put her on broadway? I don't see the logic in that. Of course, Tom will pay the critics and the public to make Katie a "star". PLEEEEAAASSSE!

I think she's a great candidate for television. She's not an good actress, but she does have charm, cuteness, and experience.
