Mark Wahlberg Slams The "Ocean's" Movies: "The Second One Sucked!"

Mark Wahlberg has been busy promoting his M. Night Shyamalan movie "The Happening," and he slammed George Clooney along the way.

Wahlberg had the following exchange with an interviewer from UK's Zoo Today about the part he gave up in the "Ocean's" movie, a part that ended up being played by Matt Damon.

Is it true you turned down the chance to be in the Ocean's films?

Yeah - and it was well worth it! The second one sucked! People tell George Clooney it's great, but we all know it sucked. I made two bad movies instead - Planet Of The Apes and The Truth About Charlie - but doing that was better than sitting with Brad and George, telling the press how great everybody is! "We were in Europe, George was funny, then we had some wine..." - that's not for me. I do love those guys, but I had to step out on my own.

i luved all the Oceans. I heard they do these movies to raise money for their indie projects. walberg sunds jealous and phoney. I saw him shamelessly promoting that stinker, Truth about Charlie. So, why hate on others promoting their movies. Just Jealous.

Oh, he made money on it, even if the producers didn't. Lets remember all bad movies do is injure his FUTURE earnings (and possible profit share)...h­e still make his millions.

Which makes me wonder why all of us (in comparison) poor people are here, wasting our time arguing about this....

I got news for ya Mark: The original wasn't very good - certainly not worth a remake - and the first one in the modern series wasn't any better. You could see it all coming down main street with the robbers dressing up like cops. Cutesy lines, Julia Roberts ain't that hot; wished I had never gone.

The first one was pretty good I thought. The others, just typical sequels. Still, sounds like sour grapes coming from Wahlberg

Ocean's Twelve was a terrible, terrible movie and Wahlberg's comments are akin to, "The sun rises from the east."

The Oceans movies were just like Cannonball run movies. A bunch of stars in a lousy movie having fun. Instead of Reynolds it was Clooney. Nothing wrong wit it - just forgettable fun.

Wahlberg was excellent in INVINCIBLE - didn't get as much attention as he should.

But he should shut up - I mean PLANET OF THE APES???? That was worse than all the Oceans movies put together.

yeah. thanks for giving us Entourage. Yeah, that doesn't suck. That doesn't make me want to cancel my HBO subscription. Yes, that is a qualified replacement for the Sopranos. Yes, that show is soooo good. What an awful show; what an awful movie.

Entourage is great. You must be over 40 or a woman, Entourage is a 18-34 year old male demographic program. It is terrific!

Marky has made some truly awful movies, but the oceans movies sucked so long and so hard I didn't know when the sucking began and when it ended. The oceans movies created such a great vortex of suckitude, that the world was almost able to collapse into itself from the sucking pressure.

I tried to watch it the other night for free on a premium channel. I was calling the predictable before it happened and mercifully went elsewhere. The only saving grace is that those $20 million per pop super stars have to sit through this crap dozens of times. There is a God.

I agree both Oceans movies were bad. the second worse. They were just vehicles so star struck fans could pay to look at their images on the big screen. No other purpose to the films.

Ocens 12 sucked so bad that I didn't bother with Ocean's 13. I mean, that whole Julia Roberts bit was the dumbest thing imaginable. I've always said that Oceans 12 sucked but I'm glad Mark had the guts to say it to the world.
