Texas GOP Pin Asks: "If Obama Is President, Will We Still Call It The White House?"

Expect the Republican party to do absolutely nothing about the racists in its own midst. The national Republican party in Washington has contacts all the time with its state parties. I'm sure there's money involved, and you'd better believe that when John McCain visits the states, he meets with local party officials.

This probably sums up why the GOP has such a hard time getting minorities to vote for republicans. There is a history of racism and bigotry.

It probably stirred up less "controversy" and instead more "confirmation." What gets me is that people like Amy Holmes, Juan Williams and Larry Elders not only continue to support the Republican Party, but that they do so with such fervor in the national media. Makes you wonder what their definition of "masochism" is.

I've always thought that that is bizarre; it seems like a weird case of political Stockholm Syndrome to me...

It's because if they were Democrats, they would not be a novelty act and not be on TV.

I tell ya these republicans really do love their props. Flip-flop sandles to purple heart bandaids and now their using outright racist phrases on a button that they can pin right next to their made in China flag lapel pin.

Pat Buchanan doesn't get it because it's not Catholics being put down. It's always easier to laugh off insults wot someone else's group that to endure it yourself. He would probably have a different attitude if the pin read: If an Irish Catholic were in the White House, you'd need a bigger bar.

Having grown up in Ft. Worth, the level of surprise this pin induces in me is... zero. Zero surprise there.

Didn't I just read an article about black Republicans and their (general) feelings about someone who looks like them actually being a major party nominee for President?

And now this. Or rather...MORE of this from their own party.

Paging Amy Holmes, Armstrong Williams, Michael Steele, Larry Elder, Michelle Malkin, JC Watts and the like. How come these folks NEVER stand up to their own party when they continually put this type of crap out there?

It'll be a cold day in hell before I hear about any of the above telling GOP leaders that this is unacceptable.

I just feel so much pity for the black republicans you mentioned. How much self loathing must they feel to support this party. WOW.

Sigh, this is one Progressive Independent who has invested a lot of time and $ helping Obama. Sadly, I will no longer be visiting Huffington Post. There's not really any journalistic standard enforced. It's just a microcosm of the Internet where various people gather and can print anything they like.

This story was not investigated at all. The TX GOP had nothing to do with this button.

To top it off, I have had a number of posts not be published. They are inevitably posts critical of an article on HuffPo.

Articles urging Obama to goad McCain into an outburst during a debate. Article on someone asking McCain if has been faithful to his current wife (pure inuendo). Many more. I can go elsewhere for honest discussion without distractions like this one.

Good-bye and good luck.

Gota love Texas because at least we know where they stand. Lets remember that G.W is from Texas and all his supports love Texas with there 1950's mentality. Our best bet is fence up the whole state and cal it GW Land because you gotta be out of your mind to even think this way anymore.

I wish the GOP would do more of this stuff. It's one of the few areas where they're actually honest about who they are.

In fact, I have a hard time believing this story -- what is the verification?

So if McCain picks Jindall as VP and Jindall becomes president, we can dust off these buttons and replace "Obama" with "Jindall"?

Is the GOP trying to get more latino votes with this button?

Have they gone absolutely bonkers?

0 has dealt with this kind of trash his entire life.
As a man of dignity, he'll brush this off as easily as the lies and innuendo he has been subjected to thus far.
