NEW YORK — Students at a Staten Island, New York, elementary school for autistic children sure like the way Jennifer Lopez moves.

Teacher Kathy Amati and a paraprofessional showed the video for Lopez's "Let's Get Loud" to the students at P.S. 37. The children liked it so much, they wanted to watch it every day.

They learned the lyrics and the dance moves from the video.

With their teacher's encouragement, they wrote to Lopez, hoping for pictures or an autograph. Instead, she asked to come to their graduation.

The Bronx-born singer-actress visited P.S. 37 on Tuesday for the graduation ceremony of a group of 10- and 11-year-olds.

The story may have been corrected, but the GIANT headline still says she "performed" and the accompanying photo shows her "performing," if that's what you call what she does.

Why put those poor kids through that. They've done nothing to deserve that kind of punishment. The parents should look into filing a lawsuit cruel and unusual treatment.

Autistic or not, that kid should have known to ask for someone better than J-Lo. What, 3LW was busy??? I think they were just making fun of Jenny from the Block on Digitalfuntown.com. It was frikkin hilarious.

After reading this story, as a mother of 15 year old son with autism my opinion of Jennifer Lopez just went up 1000%. She could have sent a letter thanking them and that would have been enough but to take time out of her schedule (considering she is the mother of newborn twins) I have to say to is awesome! JLO you are my hero today!

JLO just scored major points with this mom. My son has autism & goes to a school for autistic children & teens. Their assemblies & ceremonies are usually so chaotic. A lot of parents don't even bother to show up, so the staff tries to compensate by being extra enthusiastic for those parent-less kids. I actually got choked up reading this story, because it's touching to see someone go out of her way to make these very sensitive kids feel important & worthwhile. They are!

Hey J-Lo, I have this "affliction" that I can explain to you in more detail if you would stop by my house and entertain me.

I generally think of her as materialistic and lacking some class.

This definitely will modify my opinion. Good work, J Lo!
