He has been clear on his gay marriage position for a long time. I think he's wrong on it (not pro enough), but I also think he's right not to make it a major talking point right now. That's what got Bush re-elected.
The GOP likes the forbidden fruit. I think their kicks are in getting away with something. No is their favorite word in public. So it's like stripping the curtain from the wizard in a way....takes all the fun out it. .
You give one group civil rights and the next thing you know, everybody will want them!
I disagree; I don't think it was Eisenhower who turned this elderly couple lesbian; I think it was Eisenhower's vice president.

I've always wondered why the Repubs are against gay marriage, then I figured it out: their wives are concerned they'll run off with their boyfriends.
