"With strong support from women, blacks and younger voters, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the apparent Democratic presidential contender, leads Arizona Sen. John McCain, expected to be the Republican candidate, among likely voters in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania," according to simultaneous Quinnipiac University Swing State polls released today.

This is the first time Sen. Obama has led in all three states. No one has been elected President since 1960 without taking two of these three largest swing states in the Electoral College. Results from the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University polls show:

* Florida: Obama edges McCain 47 - 43 percent;
* Ohio: Obama tops McCain 48 - 42 percent;
* Pennsylvania: Obama leads McCain 52 - 40 percent.

In the three states, Obama leads McCain 10 to 23 percentage points among women, while men are too close to call. The Democrat trails among white voters in Florida and Ohio, but gets more than 90 percent of black voters in each state. He also has double-digit leads among young voters in each state.

Tell everyone about the scam that Former Senator Phil Gramm and his wife pulled on us. Read:

Copy the article and tell your friends and Congressman. Also read Professor Greenberger's report:

We can help bring down the price of oil, food and other things if Congress is told we want the laws changed that allowed price manipulation in the commodities markets.

Please help.

I like it when King Abdullah makes his *censored* George Bush kiss him in public to show every one who is in charge.

I am encouraged by these findings. There is still a long way to go, but that mainy means McCain has more time to shoot himself in the foot.

We continue to pray, we hold our heads high; the republicans have made themselves look like fools to, and have angered more Americans than they realize. I believe McBush can get 28% of the vote; that figure represents the voters who approve of George W. Bush.

This election was over in February when Obama took out Hillary. Bush has screwed up so badly any Democrat but Hillary could have won (and she might have as well). This is about turnout and excitement. The GOP only sort of likes their candidate and doesn't like many of his issues. Meanwhile Obama is charismatic and riding a wave.

Bet everything you own on Obama. This isn't hard to figure out. Easiest election to predict since Reagan Mondale. Comparable to Clinton Dole numbers. It's only a matter of by how much.

Heck.
McCain won't even be the nominee once the republican party realizes come August that McCain will be trailing in all but 10-12 states.
Even then, McCain states will be within 10 points with the exception of Alabama, Oklahoma, Utah, Idaho and CD-1 in Nebraska.
The thing is that no matter the message or the messenger any candidate for the presidency this cycle with an (R) after their name is doomed.

Unless Democrats had nominated Satan himself, the GOP is too demoralized to turnout. And by Satan I mean Hillary Clinton. :) I kid, I kid.

For anyone that thinks this will be a cakewalk, you severely overestimate the average American voter. Even though McCain's proposals are lousy and he's not well-liked within his own party, this election will be very close by November.

Wow, one university poll and O has won the election? Not to be debbie downer but these are the same pollsters who predicted HC and G-uilliani would win the nominations a few months ago. A lot can happen in a few months.

I would wait for Gallup, Rassmussen or some more reputable polls to see if they confirm the results.

I don't think anyone thinks it's over... but it's better to be getting these numbers than ones with Mc Cain ahead.

Those numbers are consistent with several recent polls. Survery USA and Public policy polling show similar results for Penn and Ohio. Check rasmussen and PPP for promising numbers in Virginia as well.

No one said Obama has won the election. Look, I don't like the stupid polls..they will go back and forth from now til Nov, there will be gaffes from both candidates and the polls will be up and down. I will say this: I believe the country is ready for change and Americans want a new direction, Obama is the one.
McCain is just not the right candidate..Republicans don't even like him, they're just dealing with it.
I believe he shares many of Bush's policies, and the country is sick and tired of the mess that we're in. Yes, he'll get many votes based on his POW and military status (certainly not his policies), but he is simply more of the same, and Americans will come to their senses in Nov and vote for Obama. Wait and see!!

The polls could show Obama down 40 points and it wouldn't change jack. Bush is the Carter presidency for the GOP. The GOP has no hope. The country is going to get out of Iraq, we're going to get health care reform, universal pre-K is coming, NCLB is going to be funded and have the teeth taken out of it, the work week is going to be cut to 35 or 38 hours to give more people employment... medicare will be fixed 2nd term, unions are going to have more power as trade deals are reworked. Basically, the pendulum is already swinging back to the left, the GOP tried to push it too far and now we'll see a major swing to the left. I wouldn't be surprised to see a right to college education law passed where no one has to pay for state schools anymore.

Businesses will thrive as they won't have to worry about health care costs, more people will be employed, they'll be more spending without college to pay for. We'll see a big new vibrant economy, probably a Dem replace obama in 2016. Eventually we'll hit another recession and industry will cry for deregulation and lowered taxes and the conservatives will come back to power around 2020 or a little later.

They don’t want a candidate that mentions 57 states in his speeches. 50 states in the USA and 57 states in the Nation of Islam (IOC website)

They don’t want a candidate that fights unfair and steals Michigan delegate votes from his opponent.

They don’t want a candidate that feels sorry to leave a church that is anti American and that preaches hatred and racial views that are cruel and nasty.

They don't want a candidate that is inexperienced.

They don’t want a candidate that considers it a loss to not to be able to attend his anti American, racist Church.

They don’t want a candidate that has a Muslim father.

They don’t’ want a candidate that can’t win a debate

They don’t’ want a candidate that misleads the youth with an ‘Obama girl and her behind in their face”

They don’t want a candidate that says he’s an African American and missed the MLK Remembrance Day and the Louisiana Black Caucus meeting

They don’t want a candidate that has done nothing for humanity except talk about it.

They don’t' want a candidate named; Barack Hussein Obama

He scares them to death.
He is embarrassing.
He is unelectable.

Obviously, THEY want him more than they want Senator Obama! Or perhaps you didn't read the article!

You didn't really have to devote your time to listing all of the reasons that YOU do not want Senator Obama to be the next President of the United States. You could have simply minimized it to one line:

YOU don't want him because he's black ... and it scares you to death!

We're still in June not November. The gaffes will start to come soon. If Democrats do not allow drilling for oil by September his lead will not hold.

All that talk about offshore drilling and ANWR is just nonsense. It'd take decades to have ANY effect on gas prices at all. And even then, it would likely have a minimal impact. And, it may hurt many economies (like that of Florida) because it will hurt tourism.

If you don't think that oil spills have an effect on tourism, you were not in south Florida in the early eighties when we would have tar coming up on the beach constantly. A day at the beach was always followed by a half-hour with mineral spirits washing off our feet.

Offshore oil drilling is a recipe for disaster in California and Florida. Once McDubya realizes that, he's gonna flip flop back to his original position. This has Gax Tax Holiday The Sequel written all over it.

If off shore is such a big deal then why isn't big oil drilling the 98 million square miles of off shore leases it currently holds but refuses to explore, develop, drill, pump & refine?

the republicans had both houses and the white house for six years. and they knew then what we all know now.

if this offshore drilling was such a important issue, why didn't they push it back then? they could have made it happen while they kept this country afraid that if we don't drill here... Bin Ladin would come over here and steal our oil! I know that sounds silly, and it is, but this country became a bunch of wusses after 9/11 and would excuse ANYTHING if it had the threat of terrorism wrapped around it.

even offshore drilling!
