McCain: I 'Didn't Love America' Until Held Prisoner (VIDEO)

Republicans have hammered Michelle Obama for her remarks in February that she was proud of America "for the first time in my adult life." Tonight, however, Dan Abrams showed footage he uncovered of a Fox News interview with John McCain on March 13, 2008, in which McCain said, "I didn't really love America until I was deprived of her company."

Abrams thinks McCain's comments could undermine the "right wing's steady attacks against Michelle Obama."

When you pledge the "Oath of Enlistment" I thought you were pledging to fight and defend the country you love? And if so McCain was just in there just to be there so he say to his dad, "look I joined the navy - are you happy now?" You could make the insertion as to why graduated at 894 out 899 in the naval academy. You could also make the insertion to why he crashed 5 multimillion dollar planes.

McCain is a hypocrite and someone who intentionally tried to deceive others. McCain's performance or argument stands in contradiction with his self: McCan's claim to be believer and peacemaker but is not.
McCain's behavior is much closely related to the fundamental attribution error by his tendency McCain over-emphasize dispositional, or personality-based, explanations for behaviors observed in others while under-emphasizing situational explanations. McCain has an unjustified tendency to assume that a Obama's actions depend on what "kind" of person that Obama or Wife is. IT's SAD to be alike this Guy!

I think you hit on the real story here. He needed to be a prisoner of war in order to realize he really loved america. I mean, that's pretty extreme. Michelle just needed to see that the country isn't as racist as many of us feared. I think he had to "travel farther" to love this country, all things told.

Or he always loved the country and he's a sell out piece of sh*t for pimping his POW time (and every other POW's time by association) in order to make political gains.

Either way, it's not a pretty picture of the next person to loose the presidential election.

Of course Cindy McCain is proud of America...­she is filthy rich. She never had to work a day in her natural life. Michelle Obama had to work very, very hard to get where she is, often having to climb mountains that must have seemed unsurmountable- her race and her sex. Meanwhile, Cindy had the best of everything, houses all over the world, private jets, and little association with the working class. She hasn't had to see pass her nose. If she wanted someone else's husband (John McCain) she went after it with a vengence. Cindy McCain has no morals, and no class. She can steal and take prescription meds that she doesn't need. She is NO role model, unlike Michelle Obama who has worked hard for everything that she has, and will make a wonderful first lady. OBAMA 08!
