Mccain Didnt Love America

Republicans have hammered Michelle Obama for her remarks in February that she was proud of America "for the first time in my adult life." Tonight, however, Dan Abrams showed footage he uncovered of a Fox News interview with John McCain on March 13, 2008, in which McCain said, "I didn't really love America until I was deprived of her company."

Abrams thinks McCain's comments could undermine the "right wing's steady attacks against Michelle Obama."

BLAH BLAH BLAH Can't our media talk about actual issues instead of this BS? Can we start with the basic premise that if you're running for elected office in this country, you love the country and move on to what your agenda would be? Please?

If Michelle had said this, they would've run her ass out of America on a rail.

The repubs are scared as hell of the powerful black couple. They can't imagine being governed by a scary black man. For the rest of America who like Obama, oh they're just drinking the Obama kool-aid. It can't be that we just like him and want to vote for someone that's different.

It won't matter to people who have decided to vote for McCain or who hate Obama, because they are "guilty" of selective listening. They pay attention to the things that smear their perceived political opponents, and ignore damning statements from their own candidate.

Everyone does this, to one extent or another. It might be human nature: we trust those with whom we think we agree, and discount those with whom we disagree, even when presented with video evidence to the contrary.

As the old joke goes, "Who are you going to believe, me, or your own (lying) eyes?"

"You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is... I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it." - J. McC.

Maybe if his positions were formed on principle instead of politics he'd remember what they are.

Maacy has some serious questions to answer.

How is it that he could join the military and not love his country?

How could he accept the U.S.'s enormous investment in him to train him as a fighter pilot and all along he did not love his country?

How is that he could enter battle in Vietnam in a multi-million dollar jet yet all the while not love his country? And what does this say for his narrative about why he crashed?

Is it not fair to assume that the reason he crashed several times is because he was being cavalier because he did not love his country?

What kind of example does he REALLY set for our troops when he entered the military while not really loving his country?

Given that his grandfather and father were Admirals, how is that he failed to glean from them a love for his country? What does this really say about him?

Why did he NOT love his country before becoming a POW? Did he not love his country for being a bastion of freedom and opportunity? Didn't he love it for all the training it gave him and many advantages it gave him as the son of an Admiral?

Didn't he love his country for giving fully equal opportunities to blacks in the military and in U.S. society in general? Or did it?

Post it far and wide. The American people deserve to know.

They aren't because they are too busy bashing Obama for not taking public financing...even though they all knew he wouldn't. My guess is its payback for him not kissing up to MSM.

i bet most people would have a realization about America if they were detained as a prisoner of war.

Maybe Michelle Obama should have the same experience to bring her around.

It should not take a sworn "legacy" service member a stint in prison to force him to love America. Are you NUTS?

And unless you have been a prisoner of war, the same could be said about you.

Oh, wait...we already *know* that you love America, because you have it tattooed across your forehead, right?

Maybe Michelle Obama has a point, and you simply can't admit it. Have I been proud of this country the last eight years? No.

I believe America can be better. Business is all about continuous quality improvement. Why can't America? From slavery to womens' suffrage, the civil rights movement, etc., it's clear that America has been evolving to meet the promises of its great founding ideals all along. Which means that it was never born whole and perfect.

Of course Michelle is proud that a majority of Americans might finally be able to look past color, prejudice and fear. Reflexive and unquestioning acceptance of a flawed status quo is not the mark of a patriot. It's the mark of a fearful and small mind.

Not one thing he proposes would be beneficial to our country or its citizens. Not one.

The things he's proffering for this country's future, are in direct contradiction to his claim to love America.

No doubt both Michelle and Sen. McCain "love their country" and the media and political operatives are playing word-parsing "gotcha"...

But what's relevent is that - since both CIndy ("Well I've always loved MY country) McCain and her husband, have tried to make political capital over Michelle Obama's choice of words - it's only fitting that McCain is now being hoisted on his own proverbial petard.

For the Results of the last 8 years, No one of many and many Americans said "I'm proud of my Country"
Even though with the LIES of Bush in order to legitimize a WAR. So Why should be Proud of that?

Grow up...McCain. Be an adult.. and for the first time Be Proud in your adult life (71 years old isn't too late)
The Bush-McCain made and continue to make The US, the world most Hated Nation... (You cannot be proud of that)
Obama has given back the Nation his Image as the World Super Power but the McCains don't like that ??
But for the first time after theses 8 last years, Peoples of the US are Proud of this country, OBAMA is within Restoring his image as the World Greatest country of opportunities for Peoples.

Bush-McCains == Hypocrisy as they see America as the Oil Companies interests.
When unfortunately they exploit too many Peoples trying to destroy their best Interests

WHEN I SEE ALL THIS .... There is nothing to be proud of...
But as November is near, I hope to see all the Peoples Proud of the US in the World!
