Dobbs: Impeach Bush Over Tomatoes

Thursday night, Lou Dobbs called for George Bush's impeachment over his mismanagement of the Food and Drug Administration which has, in Dobbs' view, ultimately led to the ongoing salmonella scare surrounding tomatoes.

You know, I have heard a lot of reasons over the years as to why George W. Bush should be impeached. For them to leave the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in this state, its leadership in this sorry condition and to have no capacity apparently or will to protect the American consumer - that is alone to me sufficient reason to impeach a president who has made this agency possible and has ripped its guts out in its ability to protect the American consumer. It's insane what is going on here.

In his "Beat the Press" segment, Dan Abrams mocked Dobbs' conspiracy theory that the government was enabling the salmonella scare around tomatoes. "Ah yes, they are doing it to help boost the sale of avocados in sandwiches instead!" Abrams said.

Bush has politicized every single department, initiative and piece of legislation. The FDA, as well as the armed forces- should be apolitical because it benefits ALL Americans, and not just the abstinence only crowd( to think if Poppy and Barb practiced that we'd all be better off today...). Lou is ridiculous, its true everything he talks about can in some way (to him) be traced back to Immitgration. I watched him for about 5 minutes the other day then got frustrated and turned it off. Everything is so absolute with the pundits, I know it makes good controversy but it is annoying to watch these guys and gals who have to call everything black or white.

Protests against Dobbs are just fine.. but attempts to SUE him for his anti-Illegal reporting, by
MALDEF & the ACLU, are pointedly, STUPIDLY UN-Constitutional.. as Speech that Offends is
SPECIFICALLY protected under the Constitution.
If this censorship happens AGAIN, I'll do 2 things:
#1-- quit Huffpost, IMMEDIATELY!!!!

I used to watch Lou whenever I could, but lately he brings every story back to illegal aliens, yea Lou we get it already. Illegal aliens are illegal. Currently his radio talk show host segment is either is a bunch of conservative, and right center main stream flacks. When Randy was in the mix at least there was a little heated debate, sometimes really heated.

My brother-in-law works for the FDA and he is no George Bush fan, I can assure you. It’s the jerks that have been appointed to run it the last 7.5 years plus poor funding. The tomato contamination is more of a Dept. of Agriculture issues any way, since the FDA is more involved in labeling of packaged food. I was surprise to see the FDA commissioner, the 3rd one I think and the most annoyingly arrogant on C-Span flaking for the Administration last week.

Lou wants Bush impeached over bad Tomatoes, all things considered that’s the least of this country’s problems. The whole ideological incompetent lot of them should give us all a break and just resign ASAP. Than Bush-Cheney and their whole rotten leadership can be tried as war criminals under the Nuremberg accords. If it was good enough for the Nazis it’s good enough for this crew.

I don't think his goal is to be anything like rush limbaugh. I think it is a real insult to even compare the two. I think Lou speaks the facts, its just things a lot of us can't do anything about. I don't watch Lou Dobbs anymore, not because I don't like his reporting, but because it gets so depressing night after night watching the travesties our own gov't is committing on its people with no consequences for its actions. I say go Lou, but I just can't watch anymore.

Lou Dobbs is the town fool. And we are foolish to watch him. By the way I import fruit into the United States from Mexico and honestly the USDA and FDA are pretty good agencies. They are really pretty thorough considering the load of fresh fruits and vegetables coming in. Eating raw fruits and vegetables does have its bacteria risks no matter what. And they are still the best food for our bodies. Bacteria are a part of life.
