Dobbs

Thursday night, Lou Dobbs called for George Bush's impeachment over his mismanagement of the Food and Drug Administration which has, in Dobbs' view, ultimately led to the ongoing salmonella scare surrounding tomatoes.

Watch and read Dobbs' comments below (via ThinkProgress):

You know, I have heard a lot of reasons over the years as to why George W. Bush should be impeached. For them to leave the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in this state, its leadership in this sorry condition and to have no capacity apparently or will to protect the American consumer - that is alone to me sufficient reason to impeach a president who has made this agency possible and has ripped its guts out in its ability to protect the American consumer. It's insane what is going on here.

Watch it:

In his "Beat the Press" segment, Dan Abrams mocked Dobbs' conspiracy theory that the government was enabling the salmonella scare around tomatoes. "Ah yes, they are doing it to help boost the sale of avocados in sandwiches instead!" Abrams said.

I really don't care WHY we impeach him -- just impeach the SOB. We have about a thousand reasons to do it. If tomatoes get people fired up to get him out of office, so be it.

I will NEVER criticize anyone, including Lou Dobbs, who I consider to be a blabbering blow hard, who advocates impeachment.

This is just how intelligent any talk of impeachment is. Most retarded thing dems like UFO can bring up is impeachment. Although Iwish more of them would start beating that drum, becasue if they do hello Pres. McCain.

...what if Lou dressed as a tomato? Would you watch?
I probably wouldn't. The idea of our Prez and Lou (dressed in a tomato suit) is a turn off.

Lou would make a great Vice Presidential running mate for John McCain. Two peas in a pod.

Listen, if we can't impeach on the basis of crimes against humanity/environment/animals/civil liberties/human rights/and all the other crap too numerous to type, let's get him on tomatoes. Why not?

Damn it, don't mess with our tomatoes...

I can't understand why CNN hasn't thrown Dobbs off the air by now. He really is an unintelligent man. Are there that many American's that listen to this nut job that throwing him off the air would cause problems for CNN? CNN's reputation as a news organization loses credibility because of three loudmouth idiots who really distort the public discourse. Lou Dobbs, Nancy Grace and that other idiot Glenn Beck.

While I don't always agree with him, his ideas can't be dismissed by name calling or remving him... Lou Dobbs speaks for many people in this country who truly feel the same way, who are not stupid people and who vote.

Silencing people because you disagree with them isn't an answer or what this country is about... He'd probably be the first one to tell you that if you didn't like what you were hearing, change he channel.

Just another symptom of the same disease. But it is a shame that the news does not report the Americans and Iraqi people that have been killed for no good reason.
The disease is a cancer in our government and it is killing our country.
It called malignate bushanoma it starts with lying cheating scumbags pretending to be Americans, when in reality they are good nazi's, fascist criminals that need to be punished.
To the fullest extent of the law!

It sounds silly, but Lou is right about this. Bush has staffed the most important agencies of our government with ne'er-do-wells, diletatns, and sycophants. Agencies like the EPA, FDA, FEMA, Justice, that are supposed to protect the American people, are run by people who care nothing about their responsibilities are care nothing about us. It's the money. That's all they care about. Lou is right.

I agree. The incompetent leadership of these federal agencies is another manifestation of Bush's corrupt Administration. Abrams and others shouldn't scoff at the essential truth of what Dobbs said regardless of how one feels about him.

Lou is a big government guy and is galaxies removed from what the founding fathers saw as the future for this country.

Lou does not understand impeachment as written in the constitution.

Lou believes in conspiracy theories (spinach, tomatoes, I69 superhighway (transporting our jobs to Mx), building a wall around this country).

95% of this viewers that responded believe in conspiracies....Give me a break.

Essentially, you've hit an important point. Dobbs represents the conspiracy theorists in all of us.

But conspiracy theorists can be sharp or they can be stupid. Engaging federal agencies in a manner to fulfill roles in an executive fantasy will always be stupid. I haven't agreed with Dobbs much lately, but I give him this one.

Since Bush took over as president, there are many instances and incidents which have saddened, and infuriated the people(at least half) to the extent of their echoing the demands of his impeachment. Seven long years have passed without any attention paid to such demands making them futile. That could either indicate the stability of the system or its helplessness. Congress has done many useless amendments to constitution. They should at least not neglect the important ones.

When told yesterday about Scott McClellan's testimony Bush irresponsibly
and arrogantly said, "So what", knowing that he has rigged everything in his
favor since he was a kid through fear, intimidation, fraud and false
promises. Why would this be any different.

Nothing's ever Bush's fault. Nothing. Never has been and never will be.
Regardless of what Bush does to the People of the USA, there will be schools and aircraft carriers named for him.

Right. Impeach. Take up more valuable time in Congress to remove a President that will be gone in seven months. Its not like Congress has other things to do.

Face it. Bush will not be impeached. He will not be brought up for "war crimes".

Get over it. Obama is going to be the next president so start looking toward January and make your plans now.

I can't even believe some of the stupid comments here. Aren't most of you the same people whose heads explode every time someone takes a Democrat's words out of context? I thought that the posters here were supposed to be a different brand; better educated, more well-versed on issues, able to express coherent thoughts. I guess not.
Is Dobbs hard to watch sometimes? You betcha.
How often is he 100% on the mark? I'd say at least 75% of the time, which is far better and more informative than the ad nauseum pundit shows that focus only on the "who's up, who's down" of the day.
Dobbs talks ISSUES, and isn't that what most people keep SAYING they want to hear about?
I guess that sheeple exist on both ends of the political spectrum....

What I think is hysterical is that the CDC is trying to say that the outbreak *may* have originated in Florida and Mexico. What are the chances that the same strain of salmonella originates, independently, in 2 totally separate (and by a huge distance) areas?

Oh, that and the fact that they're not really sure yet. I don't think it's a stretch to suspect that the salmonella may have been put on those tomatoes. Kind of a "test run". That'd be a major disaster and probably justify martial law don't you think? A huge outbreak of some kind nationwide.

Dobbs does talk issues although his obsession with a "wall" as opposed to electronic surveillance adequately staffed bugs me :)

Thank you. I was thinking how Fox News-ish this article sounded and how Dan Abrams seemed almost cartoonish in his piece...kind of like a Fox journalist. Lou Dobbs is right. The fact that the FDA and other government agencies are in shambles is a direct result of Bush-style cronies being installed as heads of departments they know nothing about, or worse, want to destroy; mass defections and firings, and a government that cares nothing about the population they were enlisted to serve.

It's not hard to be on the mark 75% of the time if you talk about the same 3 things every day for years.

Reading the comments it is quite obvious most of you don't watch Dobbs nor know anything about him except what H tells you. He is NOT, NOT a Repuke nor is he a Dem.

Anyone who thinks this is only about tomatoes is a complete and utter moron. If any of you would read and listen to what he has to say you would find he called for B's impeachment long ago. He also called out the newly elected D's to impeach him. Did they? Ummm No. He calls everyone out, the truth does hurt, get over it. Anyone wondering why B hasn't been impeached yet just look at some of the responses on here, it doesn't take a genius to figure out why.

I guess for the uneducated and ill informed blogging on here is your only outlet since I am quite certain your "viewpoint" gets looks when speaking face to face with people. Know what that look is? Total amazement that someone could be that stupid. Enjoy your anonymity.
