Dobbs: Impeach Bush Over Tomatoes

Thursday night, Lou Dobbs called for George Bush's impeachment over his mismanagement of the Food and Drug Administration which has, in Dobbs' view, ultimately led to the ongoing salmonella scare surrounding tomatoes.

You know, I have heard a lot of reasons over the years as to why George W. Bush should be impeached. For them to leave the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in this state, its leadership in this sorry condition and to have no capacity apparently or will to protect the American consumer - that is alone to me sufficient reason to impeach a president who has made this agency possible and has ripped its guts out in its ability to protect the American consumer. It's insane what is going on here.

In his "Beat the Press" segment, Dan Abrams mocked Dobbs' conspiracy theory that the government was enabling the salmonella scare around tomatoes. "Ah yes, they are doing it to help boost the sale of avocados in sandwiches instead!" Abrams said.

lou dobbs....bloated, irrelevant. what else is there to say about this man ? He is just an old white guy taking up space because of his ascribed (versus achieved status.) Can't they hire someone who is hip to what is happening?

I'm an Obama supporter but an independent and a great fan of Lou Dobbs. He gives everyone a little hell when deserved and I find myself agreeing with him quite a lot. There is are a lot of us who find him very relevant! There are more people in the middle than either the left or the right.

Anyone calling for the impeachment of Bush deserves a pass in my book. Dobbs can be a blowhard at times but it seems like he has not forgotten his cool side. He was right in calling out the gross incompetence of the Bush regime in regards to the FDA though he sort of reverted to his old over the top style when he said this was the first thing that he sees as an obvious impeachable offense by the Bush regime.

Lou is right. This is a scandal like the financial crisis. They gutted this organization to reduce inspections, which some people have labeled "regulation". As a consequence people have been exposed to all sorts of things without the government making them aware of the hazards around them.

It is the responsibility of the president to ensure enforcement of the law. I agree - we should impeach Bush and this this deplorable situation corrected, but will Nancy go along? She is willing to expose Americans to these hazards as well for the sake of "globalism", so there you have it.

Sometime I wish I also had a few nice horses to ride, just to wind down.
