The New York Times reports that Barack Obama, during a meeting with Democratic governors in Chicago, sat behind a previously unseen and very official-looking seal bearing his name. Featuring an eagle clutching an olive branch, the seal resembles that of the President of the United States. Above the eagle's head is the phrase, "Vero Possumus," which the Times translates as being roughly equivalent to "Yes We Can."

In the original design the eagle was giving a fist bump to Mahmoud but Axelrod said to hold off on that.

I agree with you. I don't understand the disapproval and downright childish nonesense that has been posted here. It all sounds more like envy more than anything else. It is a beautiful seal that marks a very important achievement in the man's life.

When I first saw this I thought the logo looked more like the seal on the back of a one dollar bill than the Presidential seal. I still do. It must be a subliminal message. I just donated another 250 of the little buggers to Obama, LOL

This new logo reminds me that I see Obama as a skinney mad dictator in the making. His supporters and O's inexperience and the opportunity to abuse the power he might have - have worried me. When he said he wanted to tear out the old bowling alley in the White House - it worried me. When he denies his relationahips with the black lib pastors and the bomb throwing trust fund yuppies - I worry.
Heck Obama - just build the biggest megachurch ever on the back lawn of the White House with a huge pulpit and speak to the people in robes. This new seal will fit right in.

Obama said it a number of times in interviews - one with Matthews on MSNBC. Maybe he pretended it was a joke like all the times he pretends things are jokes. I don't think it is a joke. So he is not good at bowling - but his response is to tear out the bowling alley and build a basketball court. Symbols only - I know. But symbols mean alot to middle America. Symbols mean alot to me. Rev Obama's changes for America are not going to bring us together. We will start laughing at him and wishing he would just disappear. We will be very sad and tired about having to listen to all his bully sermons about what is wrong with us. This is going to get really dangerous before it is over. I suspect he has no real sense of humor about himself and will take it out on us.
