Will Smith's Kids Willow And Jaden Wear Sunglasses At Night, Talk In Third Person

Huffington Post   First Posted: 6/28/08 Updated: 5/25/11

Smth Kids

Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith have budding celebrities on their hands with kids Willow and Jaden. Their homeschooling no doubt helps keep their schedules adaptable for movie roles. Jaden, who turns 10 next month, first appeared onscreen with dad in the critically acclaimed "The Pursuit of Happyness." His little sister Willow, 7, has a supporting role in "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl," and was also in her dad's "I Am Legend." The former opens July 2 and had its New York premiere Thursday night.

Both kids came - in sunglasses- with mom Jada. The movie opens up against Will Smith's big-budget "Hancock," but Willow isn't worried about the competition. She told Extra, "I think I'll be the biggest flashing star." When asked if her movie will top her father's, Willow declared, "Yes...I'm going to post up on daddy's movie. Willow is the star."

Premiere pictures below, including producer Julia Roberts, star Abigail Breslin, and star Chris O'Donnell with his daughter Lily.

Also please stop talking bad about Scientology . I am just guessing less people have died in the name of that religion compared to Christianity or Islam.
01:12 AM on 06/24/2008
Maybe because a couple hundred thousand people belong to the cult, If a hundred million ever do, watch the blood flow.
12:09 PM on 06/24/2008
LOL @ scientology as a "religion." From what I've observed, a little prozac wouldn't do any of them any harm. Evidently, any gaggle of whack-jobs can consoladate these days and try to pass themselves off as legitimate. Next thing you know, we'll be hearing about the Church of Rush Limbaugh.

Alot of you people up on this site appear to be very bitter. If so many people hate will smith movies then why go to them. Now you are hating on his kids cause they dont look your kids or dress like your kids. It is nothing wrong with them having shades on. Some of you people sound really really old and jealous. But that is America today, the land of jealousy. If you dont like movies read a book or support the movies you do like. I dont even get the hatred of will smith. This guy did so much with his life. He was the one guy who was trying to change the dialog in rap to be more positive. He wasnt born with a silver spoon in his mouth. What have you accomplished beside proven you are a hater.

...have you ever been at a red carpet event at night???...I have....the lights from all those cameras are BLINDING...

...get over yourselves for goodness sakes!...

...sheesh...

You folks are funny.. Everyone is saying how bad of an actor he is and how bad his movies are, yet I millions of people go to see his movies and enjoy them yet or he wouldn't be such a star.

I guess that he is doing something wonderful that keep those millions of people coming and Studios willing to shell out millions for his services.

We love you will and I can't wait to see HANCOCK!!! Yay!!!!

Millions of people voted for George Bush Sookooyah_Gurl. So what's your point. I'm sure the Smith family is just lovely, but amazingly overrated like most hollywood celebrities. I stopped going to the movies almost ten years ago.

Will Smith and his family used to seem quite normal. But he has obviously lost the plot. Why would a guy with his income and stature, not to mention intellect, suddenly get sucked into one of the most absurd, ludicrous and useless cults around? Does Will need MORE money & Fame? Does he think that by enlisting with the Hollywood Scientology wingnuts, he'll become the black Tom Cruise? And what about his kids, who don't know any better and have no say in the matter? Will they be forced to join these egotistical morons? Is Jada going to let this happen? Will hasn't really had a huge hit in quite a while, and maybe he's freaking out. Whatever. He's lost me. I'd never drop a nickel to see him or Cruise or the 'Fat Actress', or the overweight dancing 707 pilot or any of those mind warped narcissists. Of course, when the spaceship DOES land on Melrose, I'll be the first to say "Oops, just kidding..."
04:44 PM on 06/22/2008
The "black Tom Cruise"? Why can't Tom be the "white Will Smith"? Don't be such a HATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised you have time to read, what with watching 'Oprah' and 'The View'.
03:32 AM on 06/22/2008
I'm sure the reason that Jada had the kids wear sunglasses is to protect their eyes from the massive spotlights and constant flashes of camera strobes they have to endure on the red carpet. Having said that, as parent I believe that children need to be protected from the pitfalls of celebrity and kept grounded by their parents to prevent the Macaulay Caulkin and Lindsay Lohan type of self-destruction we see in Hollywood. From what I've seen of the Smiths, they seem to work fairly hard to keep their kids grounded but only time will really tell!

They should have named their kid JADED instead of Jaden. These kids will be out of their minds. Its like they are going out of their way to make them little Hollywood monsters.
09:54 AM on 06/22/2008
Unlikely, they sound like normal kids, confident in themselves. Their parents are still married and manage with their careers as well. Looks like stable family until proof of the contrary.

I think it's fine that Will and Jada and their kids are Scientologists, but I have a problem with why they don't cop to it and I think it might have something to do with them thinking it will alienate them from the African-American community.

I think they're selling that community short if they think this way, but that's not my business.

I also think that it's strange that you gotta pay and pay to find out what the higher levels of their "scripture (?)" says about the religion.

And then there's the allegations of wrongdoing against individual employees of the IRS in order to blackmail those people into giving the church tax-exempt status, but I haven't looked into that really well.

And there's that many say that they promise gay people that they can change them, and that's an issue for me because it's selling false hope to people who I would love to see be happy with what God gave them.

And friends in the Clearwater area do comment that it's kinda freaky down there.

Well, as long as they don't make me be one, and they don't tell me what to do.

Oh, there is that thing where they wanna tell the world that SSRI anti-depressants are the devil, that I have a bit of a problem with.

I don't think I'll be running into Will, Jada or their kids anytime soon, so I'm cool with whatever ... just don't screw with me.

I'm not a judgmental person but I never liked Will Smith, mainly because I can't understand why people enjoy any of the movies he's ever been in. I do feel sorry for the kids, especially the boy. Being deprived of public school, he'll never get the education he truly needs: that he needed a haircut, about two years ago.

Kids in public schools can be so cruel, but they won't lie to you!

So they are friends of yours then? You've been to their house? Oh...you've read 'People' and 'Us' magazines...thats how you know. Please, get a clue. They're just a couple of actors with a ton of money and PR people who write about how normal they are. Believe me...they aren't normal. Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are normal. They live in Connecticut.

You don't know them any more than conniedogs does.

Would it be so bad to admit that you don't know what they're like, "normal" (whatever that means) or not?
