John McCain's chief advisor, Charlie Black, ignited a firestorm with his comments that another terrorist attack on the U.S. would create a "big advantage" for McCain. Richard Clarke, the former counterterrorism chief for the U.S., appeared on Countdown with Keith Olbermann and slammed Black's comments as the "politics of fear." Clarke called for McCain to fire Black: "Charlie Black ought to be gone tomorrow morning."

I'm confused. The Republicans have been "working" real hard to protect us and another homeland attack. If an attack did occur , wouldn't that prove that the Republicans lack the ability to keep us safe?

Another attack means get rid of the Republicans and hire people who are effective.
03:48 PM on 06/24/2008
No, cause they'll spin it and say that we're still in grave danger and cut-and-run Democrats won't protect us. People are stupid when they're afraid. Just look at 2004 when bin Laden resurfaced. It should've reminded Americans that Bush failed to catch him. Instead, Republicans and the media used it to show that we're still in danger of being attacked.

Why the MSM will fail us once again

As an American voter for the next President of the United States of America, I am outraged at the MSM for not covering this story and doing there journalistic best to uncover hidden truths or untruths about Senator John Sidney McCain.

I think Dan Abrams of MSNBC has it right when he says “I think the MSM is giving John McCain a free pass on this question”, the fact of the matter is that they (GOP and the punditry) are only looking at Michelle Obama’s statement and completely taken it out of context and treating her as an unpatriotic American and angry black woman; this is completely bogus and false hood told to the voting public.

This hypocrisy has gone unnoticed by so many low and (believe it or not) high information voters because the fact that the GOP is hyping a Micelle Obama statement as unpatriotic and fear of the so called “Exotic Americans, African Americans”.

Look at Michelle Obama’s statement in the context in which she said it:

Michelle Obama – On the Stump: “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is finally making a come back”.

And did her statement cause the deaths of any American service man or woman serving in the United States military during the Vietnam or Iraqi War.

Why has the MSM and for that matter the American voter not taken this statement below more seriously about the GOP’s presumptive nominee John Sidney McCain?

John Sidney McCain – TV Interview: “I really didn’t love America until I was deprived of her company”.

John Sidney McCain the son and grandson of Navy Admirals not only made this statement once in a Fox noise interview with Sean Hannity but also made that statement in a speech he gave in front of his supporters.

Now I ask the MSM and American voters that have giving us George W. Bush why in the hell are you playing footsy with John Sidney McCain on a statement like that.

His statement has more relevance and carries more dire consequence for America then any thing Michelle Obama could have possibly said.

If we take a look at this statement “I really didn’t love America until I was deprived of her company”. Did John flip flop McCain love his country before or after he became a 5 year resident at the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam War.

Did John McCain have any loyalty or love for his country during those tuff times while a residence member of the Vietcong in the 60’s and that my fellow Americans is the big question.

GEORGE W. BUSH has little regard for lives if it gets in the way of his ambitions and this is the direct results of his mental handicaps for the deaths in Iraq for American service men and women and the Iraqi people. But hey good old George W. Bush stands with Vice Presidents Dick Cheney on that matter “So”!

Is the MSM going to let the American people down once again for not taken the reigns of honest debate and true journalistic investigation because they will not do there jobs researching gaffs’ like this “I really didn’t love America until I was deprived of her company”.

John Sidney McCain of 2000 would not vote for John McBush of 2008 anyone having respect for John McCain of 2000 knows this but the fact that John flip flop like McCain today is like a big MOUTH BASS out of water and is the quintessential gaff machine of the 21st century.

John McCain gets a free press pass on these gaffs because the MSM is his coalescent base and they will make sure a statement like this “I really didn’t love America until I was deprived of her company” goes completely unchecked and unnoticed by the American voter and once again giving us an unfit and undisciplined President.

John McCain has not the temperament, respect (for his wife(s) past and present) for woman or the US constitution to be President of the United States of America, period!!!!!

I am glad you know that Rev. Wright said it and not O'Bama
Nor should McCain be held accountable for Black. He has said no more than the pundits have said on every major cable network.

I agree with Clark that Black should resign or be fired, but it won't happen. McCain doesn't have the balls to do this.
12:35 PM on 06/24/2008
What's fascinating about Black's comment is that it suggests a symbiotic relationship between the political neoconservative right wing and "terrorists."

It also suggests that there is plenty of motivation for black ops or false flag operations that give neocons what they want-continuing control over the Treasury while another inept and weak Chief Executive, Mr. McCain, takes orders from them.

So all neocons in Bush's government have to do is order a domestic "terrorist" attack, and the likelihood of remaining behind the scenes increases dramatically. Perhaps an event that requires that Bush invade Iran, through an aerial bombardment, would serve a multitude of purposes.

What do you think, Mr. Black?

Allow Charlie to stay, just as Phil & Wendy Gramm have. We don't want them to be out of sight and out of mind. Another member of the inner circle should be vetted, too. Ms Carly Fiorino has some shame in her game, too. We already have Cindy McCain on spouse watch.

Black slipped up and permitted the world to see what he and McCain and his campaign staff think and feel.

They are evil, immoral, greedy, hateful people who would love to see America attacked, if it served their purposes. How are they different from our other enemies? THEY ARE OUR ENEMIES.

Warmonger, fear mongers, military industrial complex.

A war for which we cannot identify a cause.

Thousands and thousands wounded, dead, for nothing.

Thousands and thousands Iraqis dead...

Enemy combatants not terrorists at all....merely Iraqis scooped up in the biggest scam ever.

What a shameful thing the Bushes have done to the US....

And McCain agreeing with every bit of it.

Why would Mc fire Black!!? That oops was an oops meant to stick!! Mc thinks that terrorism is his national security strength ... that was an oops sorry, but we got scared voters thinkn' .... oops we got votes!
02:18 PM on 06/24/2008
It absolutely boggles the mind when the media continues to parrot, "terrorism is McCain''s National Security experience is his strength." McCain claims that he has spent 27 years working to protect the country from attacks...well HE FAILED, and failed miserably. Has the media forgotten that Bush was on vacation when he was informed of the planned 9/11 attack. That Condy Rice said that she couldn't have imagined an attack by air, when she knew otherwise among the other warnings given by Richard Clark and others. In my estimation, National Security is definitely NOT the strength of McCain or any other Republican. In fact they have done more to damage and weaken America through their inept, though claimed experience, handeling of foriegn policy. Their approach is and has been pathetic. Their strength has, in the past, been to drum up as much fear among the American people as possible, because they have nothing more to offer. Black's statement was just another regurgitation of fear mongering, and the Amercian people are not buying it.

Any lawyer who would like to look into this quote?

The program was paid for by a Focus on the Family affiliate whose donations are taxed, Dobson said, so it's legal for that group to get more involved in politics.

Its ok for that group, what about him? Is legal for him to be involved on politics?

If he has a church, he cannot stick his hands into politics. That's why they don'lt pay tax's.

I disagree, Black should not be fired because then we would lose the chance to tie his comments to McCain every single day.

Bring on the town halls debates. I want this issue raised every single day.

Tell me this, do you believe

that McCain is being HONEST in his protestations?

I DON'T.

This smacks of the gamesmanship where they get to say inflammatory things, lie even.

Later on page 10 there is a retraction which they can always point to, if that core
misrepresentation, misspeak, brainfart or lie ever gets used again - and called out.

It says either that McCain is talking out both sides & pretending NOT to be,
or he is not even remotely in control of his own campaign - that he's another front man for
the SAME Neocon crooks that partially pull Bush's strings.

"with Black lifting the veil"

That about says it all about the GOP.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

The day your party is gone from the political landscape cannot come soon enough, traitors.
