ABC News:

ABC News' Christianne Klein reports that at a breakfast with Republican insiders at the Capitol Hill Club this morning, former White House senior aide Karl Rove referred to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, as "coolly arrogant."

"Even if you never met him, you know this guy," Rove said, per Christianne Klein. "He's the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."

Rove said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., "needs to come right at him." He referred to the latest Newsweek poll showing Obama with a 15-point lead over McCain as nonsense, though he used a more scatological synonym. Rove said he was heading over to the White House for lunch and a chat with the President, Klein reports.

This out of touch comment is the reason why the Rethuglicans will lose in November...Country Club indeed...just shows how they are all sitting at the Country Club laughing at the rest of us "losers" who couldn't pay the entrance fee, while they steal theirs from US!

The reason I know we are going to win this time around is because this is all they have against Obama and it's nonsense.

When you listen to Rove, Hannity, Limbaugh, etc., it's all this stuff that isn't even based in fact. You can't go one segment on the Sean Hannity show without him saying "Rev. Wright, Father Flager and Bill Ayers" because they have nothing else. If they could get away with pushing him as a Muslim, I believe they would do that as well.

Gee Karl, PROJECT MUCH?

I bet Rove belongs to a country club that wouldn't have Obama (for whatever reason) as a member.

When Karl, along with the "country club" republican racist set accuse Obama of being an elite, everyone should turn to west to watch the rising sun.

No the guys at the Country Club are the jerks and the one singled out is said to be because he has made it and hasn't sucked up to them.

Is Obama the Tiger Woods of the political set?

KARL IS JEALOUS OF HIS POPULARITYten steps that "fascist, totalitarian, and other repressive leaders [employ to] seize and maintain power, especially in what were once democracies.” The ten steps are:
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy
2. Create a gulag
3. Develop a thug caste
4. Set up an internal surveillance system
5. Harass citizens' groups
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
7. Target key individuals
8. Control the press
9. Dissent equals treason
10. Suspend the rule of law

Good point. Sadly, many will miss it, especially the NASCAR dads.

Seems to me as if Rove is looking in the mirror, describing himself . . . well, except maybe for the beautiful date. Never seen Rove's wife, but I really don't think he'd be the guy with the beautiful date.

What a JERK!

Karl Rove is going down. It's just a matter of time. The law will prevail.

Count on it.

"'Even if you never met him, you know this guy,' Rove said, per Christianne Klein. 'He's the guy at the country club with the beautiful date...'" -- Oh, you lost me. Never been at a country club for anything other than a wedding. Seems like a good compliment for Michelle Obama though.
