Woman At Center Of Christie Brinkley's Divorce May Testify, Won't Comment

Diana Bianchi, the young woman at the center of Christie Brinkley's split from Peter Cook, may take the stand during their upcoming divorce trial, her lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, confirmed to PEOPLE.

He said Brinkley's lawyers have requested her to testify in the public trial set to begin July 2 in Long Island.

"She's been subpoenaed to testify, and if called to testify, she will testify truthfully," said Tacopina.

Diana Bianchi, the young woman in the middle of the Christie Brinkley/ Peter Cook split scandal, will testify in divorce court, THEINSIDER.COM has learned.

Bianchi's attorney tells THEINSIDER.COM today, "She is looking to move forward in her life and regain her anonymity. She has not pursued a career in music by her own choice. That choice has nothing to do with Christie Brinkley or Peter Cook. She wants the media to respect her privacy."

"Extra" caught up with supermodel Christie Brinkley at the Heart of the Hamptons Celebrating the American Heart Association event. Brinkley spoke about her highly publicized divorce proceedings against ex Peter Cook declaring, "I'm very grateful for the public support. I really am."

Brinkley added, "Throughout this whole thing, my children have been my primary concern."

Brinkley filed for divorce from Cook in 2006 after 10 years of marriage after a cheating scandal involving Cook and 18-year-old Diana Bianchi.

Christie should be an adult, consider her kids, and keep ths private. I understand her anger and pain, humiliation, but nothing good will come of this, and it might backfire on her taking it public. It amazes me just how little the childrens' feelings are taken into consideration when adults get mad at each other. Its public knowledge that Cook cheated on Brinkley with a 18 year old. I'm trying to figure out what good will come out of this being a public trial. It seems that the goal in these types of situations is to make the father seem so repulsive that joint custody is impossible; and to make sure the wife gets as much money as possible. Its pretty sad. Obviously, the lessons learned from Alec Baldwin / Kim Bassinger and Charlie Sheen / Denise Richards divorces didn't resonate very well....

I do believe you're wrong on that count...th­ere are some animals who do mate for life. I should hope were more advanced than animals. If you don't love your spouse any more then you should leave. Walk away before you cause irrevocable pain. Don't cheat that not only destroys the marriage it destroys the family if you have kids. It brings about trust issues for children. If you can't be monogamous then don't get married. There are people who marry when they don't really love the other person. It's rarely works out.

Monogamy in animals is a myth for the most part. Birds are the common example given, but while 90% or so are socially monogamous, almost none are sexually monogamous and do engage in extra-pair relationships. DNA studies have proven this. I wonder sometimes if we did that kind of DNA study on people if we'd find out that sexual monogamy is actually just as rare in humans.

we are all, both men and women, subject to the temptations of this kind, and if we don't have boundries that protect ourselves, our families, and those of other families..­.we find ourselves in the middle of this type of legal battle or sometimes worse. STDs, HIV/AIDS, variations of different viruses...­and that's just the physical threat. then you move on to the heartbreak, when you violate those boundries. why not just get a divorce, and sleep with whom ever you want...why not be honest? you've lost the desire to be manogamous, lost the desire to be exclusive, lost the desire to honor the commitment of marriage, and all you have to do is release yourself from this agreement.­..why CHEAT? you cheat yourself most of all, because you have to live with yourself..­.the other person gets a "get out of jail free card" on this one (who wants to be with a cheater, except maybe another cheater) cheaters never prosper...­it's easy to spot the changes that take place when someone has made the choice to cheat. only cheat if you want to end your relationship! that where cheating always takes you :-)
