President Bush met with Filipino President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo today at the White House. Arroyo was in Washington while her country tries to recover from a typhoon that devastated coastal areas and flipped a ferry carrying over 800 passengers last week. Before discussing aide for the Philippines, Bush couldn't resist beginning the sober meeting with a quip about a Filipino member of his kitchen staff. Read part of the transcript from the meeting and click here to read more about one of the "Philippine-Americans" Bush is referring to. See the excerpt below:

PRESIDENT BUSH: Madam President, it is a pleasure to welcome you back to the Oval Office. We have just had a very constructive dialogue. First, I want to tell you how proud I am to be the President of a nation that -- in which there's a lot of Philippine-Americans. They love America and they love their heritage. And I reminded the President that I am reminded of the great talent of the -- of our Philippine-Americans when I eat dinner at the White House. (Laughter.)

PRESIDENT ARROYO: Yes.

PRESIDENT BUSH: And the chef is a great person and a really good cook, by the way, Madam President.

PRESIDENT ARROYO: Thank you.

Phillipine President: Mr. President, we have heard a lot about your oratorial skills. To witness it first hand is quite unfortunate.

Pres Arroyo: Haha, Mr. President, you remind me of former President Joseph Estrada. He didn't exactly have a good command of English and made a fool of himself whenever he opened his mouth. "

Oh yeahhhhhhhhhh. This one was pretty good. Kudos Madame President for maintaining your composure. My favorite Bush moment was during the Queens visit when he fumbled over the date of her last time in the US saying 1776 and then he winked at her. The Queen simply stared at him in complete disbelief. After she returned home Tony Blair resigned and we pretty much have not heard from him again. Distruction everywhere in his wake!

Tony Blair is a wanker. I hope we never see that war criminal. After his middle east envoy position went nowhere, he tried to go for president of the EU. Look like the EU government spit in his face.

I belive Kasinich said he would be adding twenty more articles of impeachment every month if congress continues to refuse to do it's constituitional duty. May I suggest adding to the list " being a coplete idiot who's stupidity has no bounds." and " being such an embaressment as president as to make Americans hide the're heads in shame." Send the little traitorous chimp to the Haige, This is'nt funny anymore.

Latest LA Times/Bloomberg poll has Bush approval rating at 23%. Amazing there are still 23% who think this guy is doing a good job. I wonder how he'd poll in Manila, and for those 23 per centers, I'm talking about the city in the Philippines, not the envelope.

Only a few short months till Presuhdent Bush acquires, you known, Senior Statesman status. After that time, you know, leaders of the most major countries of the world will regularly seek him out for advice. Laura will remain the world's most authoritative authority on Burma. Just my humble prediction.

I certainly hope that we see more of Dubya campaigning for McCain in this year's election.

It will be an "Obamalanche" in November!

Obamalanche. I like the sound of that.

You need to start screening some shirts and make some money of that. Just make sure to send some the way of the campaign. :)

Bu$h the ugly imperialist shows himself as such again and stooopid Americans don't get it. Carlos Mencia said that Filipinos were the Mexicans of Asia and somehow Bu$h is verifying it to distasteful effect.

It is unfortunate that Bush has said so many completely moronic things over the last 8 years that gems like this will likely be lost to the annals of history.

Privileged MORON BUSH sees all who aren't his COUNTRY CLUB SET as
"inferior" beings. That includes all who do not have "OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY" to
cash in on whenever they want, and all those whose skin is not white.

May Bush, his rotten family and his greedy rich pals be damn to tarnation forever.

Bush'a comment smacks of a disturbing archaic attitude among some arrogant European Americans from a bygone era who remain in our midst. They believe themselves to be the privileged and entitled members of our society, the true Americans, the "all-Americans," and all other racial groups -- including those whose people have historically been here much longer than his people -- are here to assume meniel roles to serve people like him at their pleasure. We all have have an acknowledged predestined "place" in society, in their twisted reasoning.

Perhaps "minorities" did serve his people in those subservient roles in years gone by. That was more of an indication as to the racist mentality and structure of our society than it was about the abilities -- or lack thereof -- of the minorities of our society. For generations, minorities had very limited educational or occupational opportunities here, and that was no accident -- that was by design. Things are now different, however, so we need to put dinosaurs like Bush out to pasture, where we won't have to deal with their destructive and insulting ways anymore.

I agree. It is a European tradition of having minority servents. This is also seen in Mexico would you beleive since Southern Europeans (spaniards) hold the reign of power in Mexico. There they use indegeneous people as servants. They have " Gatitas" (little female cats) squatting next to the privilaged chair should they desire a glass of water or whatever. I suppose it's a status symbol to have servants. Can't wait for the day when they all turn on their masters.

Of course this still probably doesn't change the political persuasion of Michelle Malkin sad to say, she's as dumb as GWB to know that she's been insulted by one of her icons I'll bet.

Bush is truly clueless. Maybe he should also say that he admires women, too, because he has a great cleaning lady.
