Karolina Kurkova Labeled Too Fat (VIDEO)

24-year old beauty and Victoria's Secret model Karolina Kurkova is being criticized over her appearance in recent days at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, especially after a runway appearance in a bikini.

One Brazilian paper blasted her back fat and cellulite, as did other outlets.

The impetus for the stories were two still photos taken at the Cia Maritima fashion show at the end of last week. It was 2006 when Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston, 21, died of anorexia

Kurkova opened and closed the swimwear show, and did a third walk in the middle. That third walk can be seen 7:35 into the below video, and is the look from which the stills were taken.

The question is: how many anorexic fourteen year olds buy $200 bikinis and lingerie at Victoria's Secret? I vote for seeing clothes on models who are only 40-50 pounds lighter than the average consumer. 80-100 is getting tired.

Models are supposed to be beautiful and sell clothes. Not many would want is see huge tub on the runway.

Swimsuit models hit the runway knowing they're going to be judged on their bodies. The issue in her case isn't weight, it's firmness. And these models get paid insanely well for that.

She's a gorgeous woman, and has a great body. However, for *runway bikini modeling* she is a bit out of shape. She is "skinny fat". Yes it is possible for a skinny person to be flabby, people. Walking down a runway is just going to exaggerate that. If she had on the same bikini and was posing for print pictures, it would be perfect, 1) because any perceived flaws would be airbrushed away and 2) she would be better able to control her poses and angles.

People are missing the fact that she is up there in little more than floss, not a dress or blouse or pants. Nobody put her up there at gunpoint; she chose to make her living in next to nothing. She'll collect her check and live another day.

I agree that the stills make it look way worse than the video n that's the real core of the problem: focusing on one angle in which u can see cellulite or folds or whatever. when she's walking, she's way better looking than everybody else. n the whole body part-picking is what produces the eating disorders n inadequate body image. i never really loved her look, but i actually think she looks uber hot now. oh, n whoever said he would not invite her back to his apt, i'm still rolling around on the floor. do u also do the rest of the things patrick bateman did? because u sure sound like him. good luck, coming out of the closet, too.

Some people might like their women to look like little boys with no breasts or hips, (the girl who walked on right after Kurkova left is a perfect example) but I'll take a real woman with hips, breasts and even some fat on her every time.

Ironic that you say this when SO many of the dominant designers are gay. And what do their preferred models look like? Tall thin young men --what the designers prefer, just with long hair and lipstick.

It's insane to say this woman is fat or out of shape--and highly irresponsible. I'm not A/A and I don't find hugely obese women attractive, but I definitely prefer one shaped like an hour-glass to one shaped like a thermometer!

I think what ChoiceLady is trying to say is that the way this woman looks suggests that she does not work out. That doesn't mean she's fat; she's in fact just right, if you ask me. You can simply tell that she isn't firm. That's all. And, by the way, there's nothing at all wrong with that.
