Every week or two I read another article in Roll Call, the Hill or the Politico on the increasing clout of the Blue Dog caucus. Today's came out in Roll Call, titled 'Blue Dogs' Bite Gets Stronger'. Anna Palmer's article opens with the sentence, "Blue Dogs get ready: The ranks of obsequious lobbyists looking to curry favor - and contribute to your war chest - is set to explode." The article also dubs Blue Dogs 'pro-business' and 'fiscally conservative'.

I didn't see anything about money laundering. Maybe in some attenuated "I don't know what money laundering really is" sense, but not in the "I understand the words I use" sense.

The so-called "Blue Dogs", aka Republicans in Democratic Clothing, should be voted out and replaced by real Democratic candidates who are loyal to the party.

You sleep with blue dogs, you get fleas! In order to win seats in the last election the Democrats ran very conservative (for Democrats) candidates. The Democratic Party won and the progressives lost. In getting so many more moderate to conservative representatives and senators Democrats won the numerical majority and lost the ideological majority, or for the folks in Rio Linda, the Democratic Party is morphing into Republicans.

Yup: in 2006 the GOP lost, the dems didn't "win"

Rahm pelosi and reid all think they "won" because they move to the right.

Rahm actually ran stealth conservatives pretending to be liberal and antiwar.

Rahm: "winning is everything"

Tommy: How about loyalty to their constituents and to the country. The Party is only an organization of like minded people. What matters is the survival, prosperity, and security of the country and of its people.

Republicans think that everyone else is like them. When they had power, they tried to force lobbyists to hire only Republicans, with their ifamous "K-Street Project." Now they are afraid they will be shut off from the lobbyists' money spigots.

No one is as corrupt as the neo-cons. They have taken immorality and corruption to heights never before seen in this country. May they rest in peace.

Yet more support for the fact that there is very little difference between Democrats and Republicans. The Republican Branch of The American Politburo is currently out of favor for trying to go too fast to establish corporate fascism in America.

Time for the go-it-slow approach represented by The Democratic Party. Sigh. When will we ever learn that corporations are the latest in feudalism and democracy is anathema to feudalism. Unless we tightly control corporations through regulation and ubiquitous oversight, this war will continue.

The Republican National Corporation gets the money when their approach works best at subverting American Democracy. The Democratic National Corporations is showered with corporate when their approach is appropriate to circumstances and political fortune.

Good luck, America. The clouds of fascism has always hovered over America only to rear its ugly in Europe. Forget who wrote that. This time, fascism rears its ugly head in America. When we become poor, most people will accept whatever alternative gives them the clearest hope of luxury. Germany during the 1920s and 1930s demonstrates this concept very well. Nazi Germany was destroyed.

Sounds like it's time for the American Revolution part 2. Since the Congress (Republicans and Democrats alike) are more interested in representing corporate intrests than the people... We are the new victims of taxation w/o representation.

wow...You're sure cynical. Unfortunately, you're also probably right on target. And when you're proved right, it probably won't be any comfort to know you saw it coming and were unable to do anything to stop it.

Money Laundering is a bit extreme and detracts from the main point of the article.

How about we, the people, agree to pick the candidates we like and send money to them directly. Not to PACs, just straight to the candidate.

Yay dogs! Let's let them run the country. We'd be a lot better off if we had their priorities - eat, sleep, play, and love, love, love.

How do we counter? By flooding their constituents with 'revealing' information!
