McClatchy:

An idea to close the Guantanamo Bay prison camp for war-on-terror detainees and transfer the prisoners to the military prison here -- championed for more than a year by Republican presidential hopeful John McCain -- has drawn sharp opposition from the base's commander and both of Kansas' U.S. senators.

The opposition is a sign of a split within the GOP over detainee policy in a state that traditionally has voted Republican in presidential elections. Both Kansas senators, Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts, are Republicans.

In a letter to their fellow senators Wednesday, the two pleaded that their state not become home to any prisoners still in U.S. custody when Guantanamo is closed, something both McCain and Democratic hopeful Barrack Obama have pledged to do as president.

That military prison might not BE for "them" ...

If the Constitution of the United States DOESN'T work, if those who swore to uphold and defend it instead choose to regard it as "a wee-wee piece of paper," then you have no protection at all ... and history tells us plainly that "Rome fell."

What happened after the collapse of "Pax Romana," to the Roman citizens especially, was several hundred years of pure-hell, until that evil was finally spent. Only the aqueducts remain: aqueducts which, history also tells us plainly, once "flowed with blood." Specifically, with the blood of Rome.

So, the choice is yours. What you do not value, you do not keep. You cannot fight these men and women with "the sword" ... they know all there is to know about "the sword" ... but you can, only if you choose, fight them with the law. We're talking about less than 600 key people: you could sit them all down at once in a moderately-sized convention hall and they would call it "a very small meeting." I think that 300 Million citizens could manage either to change those people's voting habits or "hang 'em high" or both.

DO you want your country back? DO you want it to keep going?

Yeah? "How BAD do you want it?" Apparently, "not bad enough..."

Just let these people have thier Day in Court so we can let the innocent ones go home.
Bush has created a hell hole that makes the 'black hole of Calcutta' look like a summer vacation, and is using American tax dollars to do it. Innocent Americans will be paying for Bush's sin for decades.

Maybe Glenn Beck can do a live remote from Leavenworth. Just think of the opportunities for the right to go "Waco" on Kansas.

Please, please don't put it in Kansas...I can hear the bad jokes from the neocons now:

"Release 'em, hell! Give 'em all red slippers and tell 'em to click their heels while saying "There's no place like home...there's no place like home...".".

Obama has the perfect place to put them. Ha! Deep Red state that will stay Red in 08. It loses him no votes and McCain angers another state if he changes his mind.
