Logan Ware

CBS' Lara Logan was involved in a Baghdad love triangle with a married US State Department contractor and CNN international correspondent Michael Ware, the New York Post reports.

This week's National Enquirer reported the news of Logan's Baghdad sex life, and implicated her as the cause of the State Department contractor's divorce. And while it named the contractor — Joe Burkett — it only described Ware as a "star CNN correspondent." The Post reports his name in Thursday's paper:

Passions got so hot in the combat zone that one of her lovers, Joe Burkett, brawled in a Baghdad "safe house" with her other paramour, CNN war reporter Michael Ware, a source said.

A close pal of Logan, who confirmed the allegations to The Post, said Burkett's marriage to Kimberly was already finished six months before they sparked up a relationship.

"She is not the cause of their divorce," the friend told The Post yesterday.

"It was going to happen."

The pal also said Logan was particularly hurt by the comments because she had met Kimberly Burkett and thought the two were "friendly."

As for the other claims, pals admitted that Logan had a one-time fling with CNN reporter Ware - but denied that there was any sort of fight between him and Burkett in Baghdad.

"There was no screaming match," the pal said.

I think CNN should give her one of those batchelorette/reality shows and make all the CNN men vie for her love. My money would be on Jeffery Toobin.

I'm just happy someone in Iraq is doing something life-affirming. Make love, not war, was never as true as it is now.

I think the US media just got back at her. 1) If the US media spent more time on REAL issues we might have information to make good decisions. 2) The Bush administration has made this kind of revenge OK. What have we become?

Not only is this story irrelevant, it is sexist. All the focus is on Logan and not the men.

I think it is refreshing. It is good to hear of a woman having sex for something other than money. I can empathize with her putting her life in harms way with the troops. But as news: so what?

Get over yourself.

WHO CARES???!!!

I don't care if she slept with a battalion of soldiers, she's one of the few reporters out of Iraq doing JOURNALISM, which huffpo sometimes does.

I don't care if she rapes sheeps on her spare time.

As a journalist she's has guts.

this smells awfully like a smear campaign against her.

Don't be so easily fooled. Use your faculties.

So a purity test must be passed? What about your grocery store checker or auto mechanic? Do they also have to pass some test of morals and purtiy?

Perhaps the private lives of MLK, FDR, JFK, et al have caused you to reconsider their accomplishments, too? We don't walk in others' shoes and we don't have all the facts. Even so, one can argue it's really none of our business, that life isn't always black & white, and that a higher power should be more qualified to judge than we.

Come on HuffPo editors; this "article" is beneath contempt. This woman spoke the truth, and now she has to be crucified by the powers that be. Sad to see something like this here.

I know this will sound sexist but this is why women shouldn't be allowed in the combat zone. I know when my husband was on active duty we had a lot of problems like this. Women soldiers should not be allowed in combat zones. Same thing for reporters. Sorry but I see what happens to families when both parents are overseas. It really has a effect on the children. Of course some of the soldiers have to worry about being raped. By the way rapes are not a high priority with the military.

With that thinking, the wives left behind should wear locked chastity belts....or perhaps you prefer the men to do as they do in prison

Yes, it's sexist...and simple-minded. And you're confusing a hodge-podge of issues -- what does both parents serving overseas have anything to do with potential affairs and rape in the military (or is women in combat the common denominator for these social evils)? The same case you make can be extended to justify women wearing bhurkas, banning all gender mixing, denying girls education, and prohibiting women from the work place (since we temptresses may lead hardworking family men astray?). Let's forget that individual choice plays a role in how men and women engage each other, whether both parents enlist (or start a family while enlisted), and whether someone commits a crime...

This shows what happens when a member of media speaks her mind. I'm sure it's no coincidence that this story "broke" after Logan's appearance on the Jon Stewart show, where she criticised the US media's coverage of the war & of the government's unwillingness to allow us to see the true costs -- the dead bodies of US soldiers. Probably the IRS will be next -- they'll audit her to kingdom come.

So THAT's what happened to Michael Ware's nose. I have been hoping that he'd never get married/mix genetic material with Gloria Borger or Campbell Brown. I noticed yesterday that Gloria's is now going a bit to the right, whereas it was straight before. Do you suppose Lara and Gloria duked it out over Michael and that's why Gloria's nose is moving to the right?

I absolutely cannot bear to watch that man when he's on. He's a good reporter and a good journalist, but that broken schnoz just makes me cringe. I can't even bear the sound of his voice.

Lara Logan is a first rate reporter but this scandal may have damaged her journalistic career.

Logan should consider changing careers and start making action movies. Lara would be a perfect choice to play Wonder Woman, Batgirl, the Bionic Woman, or Emma Peel.

There are millions of movie fans ready to watch Lara running around in tight jeans, leotards, or a catsuit and beating up the bad guys.
