Two more states have shifted to Barack Obama's column in the new CNN Electoral Map that charts the candidates' strength leading up to the November election.

"Toss-up" states Minnesota and Wisconsin were re-designated to "Lean-Obama" Friday, giving the presumptive Democratic nominee another 20 electoral votes in CNN's current estimate. The Illinois senator now has 231 electoral votes -- 39 shy of winning the nomination.

Minnesota is well known for being a Democratic state so why did they just announce we are leaning for Obama? This makes no sense, but if your in a tiny bubble in New York or Washington you might buy into this. Its just more lies from CNN.
BTW I haven't seen ANY McCain bumper stickers but Obama stickers and yard signs are all over the place.

If Obama doesn't win in a landslide in November, Americans haven't been paying attention for the last 7+ years.

If CNN has him at 231, we must be -really- looking at an F-ing landslide!

I thought all of the liberals were for getting out of Iraq? Ron Paul does that, Obama now admits he will not. What about FISA court? Again, Obama ramrods the liberals. What about Obama saying he agreed with the conservatives position on the Supreme Court in the 2 critical decisions of this year? I get the impression that we are at a point where the shills here really do not care what Obama's positions are, they are going to support him no matter how much of a corporate puppet he is; and you're calling McCain - McSame????

Ummm...how is New Mexico in the lean McCain light red color? What polling are they looking at? That state is clearly a toss-up right now...if anything it is leaning Obama. Obama is doing better in NM than he is in Florida, Missouri, Nevada and Virginia...CNN should fix that.

hHow "white" of CNN to "give" these two states to Obama.

What is wrong with this picture?

Please don't be fooled into believing that his is a close race...it definitely is not. The media just wants Americans to believe that, so that their ratings will stay up. But which way will it swing, Blue or Red. That we will have to wait for, until November :)

My apologies! I meant "this" not "his"

It's going to be too close for comfort for the Dems, whether they realize it or not. Obama might win, but it's going to be a fight, not a walk in the park.

You're probably right the media wants it to be a close race. Lord knows they're sure doing their best to make it one with the slanted information they're disseminating.

Gallup has them 44%-44% we really won't know anything until November 4, 11:59 PST. McCain could very easily take this thing. I've seen several electoral maps all saying something different.

Count MONTANA on Obama's side.. red state is turning BLUE in Nov..

Woot!! Sure hope so!

You never know. As a former Montanan I know Montana used to be a blue state. But there are many conservatives in Montana so it may yet go red. Hopefully it will vote blue in November.

All of the polls shift so I would not pay an undue amount of attention to them until September. But all of the polls have consistently shown Missouri, Ohio and Florida as being toss-ups at best. Typically, if one wins a couple of those then they win the election. Obama needs to get the Jewish and Latino voters in Florida to support him. Nevertheless, the importance of Missouri, Ohio and Florida may be undercut this election. This year may be different if the African-American vote in the south turns a couple of those states blue. Northern Virginia's urbanization is turning that red state blue.

Says Rasmussen: 'When leaners are included, Obama leads 284-240. On Friday, June 20, Colorado moved from Leans Democratic to Toss-Up but Ohio did the reverse, moving from Toss-Up to Leans Democratic.'

They show Iowa, Ohio & New Mexico as 'red' states which are leaning Blue.

Minnesota 'leaning'? Well, if Obama doesn't win Minnesota, then what? Maybe not
win Massachusetts either? Maybe he'll pick up Texas & Georgia instead.

I'm not crazy about Rasmussen because he has a Republican bent but his data usually is pretty accurate. Let us hope that Rasmussen is right.

I think a poor economy will hurt McCain in the Rust Belt.

Looks like CNN has come up with a way to transfer the perpetual—and useless—Obama/Clinton guessing game to Obama/McCain. Maybe this is why the ratings are down, CNN. Try reporting some news and see what happens.

Garbage.

Electoral vote dot com, which uses ALL polls, has it much more for Obama -- well over 270 already.

Why is CNN shilling for McSame?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:09 PM on 06/27/2008

Because they are a right-wing-tabloidish rag. Wasn't there a hostile takeover by Newsmax not too long ago? LOL

Because Mc is a corporate puppet and well...CNN is corporate.

"The Illinois senator now has 231 electoral votes -- 39 shy of winning the nomination."

Huh? I do not think he has any electoral votes.

You mean CNN does not give the electoral votes out!! I thought that MoveOn.org passed a law saying the could?
