David Letterman Posts Worst Ratings Since 1993

NEW YORK -- CBS' "The Late Show With David Letterman" tied its lowest-ever adults 18-49 rating last week.

"Late Show" averaged a 0.9 rating in adults 18-49, Nielsen Media Research said. That is its lowest ever for an original since the program premiered in 1993, though not the lowest for the show: It has hit 0.9 several times, most recently in late December when it was in reruns because of the WGA strike.

I haven't watched Dave since I was 18 yrs old and that was 20 yrs ago. He's not all that funny to me anymore. I'd much rather watch John Stewart.

It's because he is so pro-Obama and does nothing anymore but make ageism jokes about McCain. You get sick of hearing different versions of the same joke every night. Plus he acts like hes never listening to his guest. Hell I could phone in that show and be more interesting than Dave is.

Like many of us in the 25 - 45 demo, we watch The Daily Show and Colbert Report Instead of Leno or Letterman. Leno has never been funny and Letterman has not been funny since the mid nindies. Leno has lots of jokes, none very funny if at all. Letterman has a joke attempt about every three minutes. It is like watching grass grow and the payoff is lame.

Cannot STAND Leno. Ugh personified. Will NOT watch that show even if I was paid to watch it. I gave it a shot when he first came on the air, have seen only a few bits and pieces of the show ever since, and each time he was kissing someone's butt or trying to be funny but wasn't. When I think of Leno I think of the word: Sycophant.

One thing Letterman is NOT is a sycophant. He's edgy, intelligent, witty (dry, which most people don't get), funny, and topical. He does have bits that need to go - "Will it Float" has worn out its welcome.

And what is with Huffpost posting that godawful picture with the dramatic headline? Is this now the National Enquirer or the UK Daily Mail????????? Enough of these sensational headlines/pics. Whose side are you on Huffpost?

Why give Dave such a hard time he's been on so many years and been so great and so consistent and is a voice for many liberal values and venue for such great music history why such an unflattering picture since when is Letterman a bad guy..if you're on for so many years you're gonna have your ups and downs..Jee­ze this site is getting to have a real mean streak yet you can't say things about Karl Rove or Bill O'Reilly..­or it gets censored..

I hadn't watched Letterman in a while, but always appreciated his Bush bashing bits like "Great speeches in presidential history". So I tuned in the other night, and couldn't believe how dated his jokes were. I mean, he's STILL making jokes about NY rats?
