Joe

This week, Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films launched LiebermanMustGo.com, a website petitioning Senate Democrats to strip Sen. Joseph Lieberman of his powerful committee positions in 2009.

Greenwald writes:

Lieberman still holds a top rank within the Senate Democratic Caucus as chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The Senate Democratic Steering Committee needs to know just how much of a conflict of interest this is. That's why we created Lieberman Must Go.

Here's what you can do: Sign our petition today and tell the Senate Democratic Steering Committee to strip Lieberman of his leadership role in Congress. Then, e-mail this video to everyone you know and spread it on sites like Digg and elsewhere.

Recently in Talking Points Memo, Josh Marshall suggested that the best way to limit Lieberman is by encouraging the Steering Committee to render him powerless in 2009. Lieberman must go, and you can make that happen by donating to Brave New Films today.

Yesterday, Lieberman himself responded to the campaign. The Hartford Courant reports:

When asked about the new www.LiebermanMustGo.com Web site, Sen. Joe Lieberman said this afternoon that it certainly had the right to collect signatures demanding he be shoved out of his Democratic Party positions next year. But he said, "I think most people in this country are really tired of this kind of partisan politicking."

So, what's his plan to counter the petition?

Lieberman joked, "I'm not going to sign."

Maybe Obama is sorry he was this guy's protege???
Maybe he was sorry he endorsed him in primary? (what he did later is irrelevant)

I would like to tell Senator Lieberman to his face that his kind of BS is what most American are tired of we can not tell if he is a agent of Israel are a United States Senator. The only interest he seem to want to present are those of his own not the people who interest he is suppose to represent.

I see where you are coming from, but if you were a Jew, you may understand where Lieberman is coming from. Israel is the only country in the world where Jews can find true sanctuary. I do not fault him for insuring that Israel is always there to provide that sanctuary for Jew runnig from oppression. You can disagree with his method, but I do not fault him for his complete support of Israel. So, let's keep the holocaust and other brutalities Jews have faced and continues to face around the world in perspective. All said, I still think that Lieberman is a Republican in Democrats clothing (now Independent).

Take his chairmanship away and name a sewage treatment plant after him.

if you take his chairmanship, then the DEMs won't be a majority party. so you may want to wait until november.

It's not like the Democrats can do much with their slim "majority" anyway. All they're left with is looking ineffective against Republican obstructionism. They'd be better off letting the Republicans cement their already tarnished reputation in stone. Voters will be so eager to get rid of them that Democrats could expect a landslide victory in both houses building a solid majority to back an Obama Presidency.

Without a chairmanship on any committee, the corporations won't need Lieberman. His days of power will be gone. He may end up becoming a lobbyist, working for corporations and Israel, but at least he won't be giving away the power connecticut-ians have entrusted him with.

He's always been working for corporations and Israel. He's one of the biggest hawks on Iran because he thinks they threaten Israel's domination militarily in the region. Any policy issue with any tangential relationship to Israel will find Lieberman in the middle of it pushing Israel's position.

"John McCain is a campaign finance criminal who is flouting the very regulations he championed."

Sign the McCain FEC complaint. at the website below:

http://www.americablog.com/2008/03/john-mccain-is-campaign-finance.html

John McCain is a "campaign finance criminal." The Washington Post even reported on the potential for criminal behavior by McCain:

Knowingly violating the spending limit is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE that could put McCain at risk of stiff fines and up to five years in prison.
Now, based on McCain's latest campaign finance report in March, John McCain violated the spending limit. John McCain has spent $58.4 million on his Republican primary effort. Those who have committed to public financing CANNOT SPEND MORE THAN $54 million on their primary bid.

So, it's time to take it to the next level. Jane delivered a complaint about McCain's criminality to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) -- and gives the background:

If the press is NOT going to ask the necessary questions, then we have to do it ourselves.

Too hold John McCain accountable -- sign your name to the complaint at the website address I provided ABOVE. AT THAT LINK: you'll find a copy of the FEC filing and a list of signatories thus far.

Sign the compliant and get the word out . McCain needs to be held accountable for violations of the law especially the one that has his own name on it.

Lieberman's political star will be extinguished in this next election, and we can all breath a sigh of relief. Most of us know he would be nothing if the Senate weren't so evenly divided. Personally, I can't wait to sweep him out the door. He will be remembered along with famous Democratic traitors like Zell Miller. Wow, did Zell Miller's support of George W. Bush ever prove what a fool he is? Zell Miller through away his reputation when he chose to embrace Bush at the Republican convention. In hindsight, he looks even more stupid by leading fellow sheep to support the disastrous Bush agenda.

First, threw is spelled t-h-r-e-w. Second Lieberman will win his Senate seat as long as he continues to run for it. Why doesn't all the members of the Ned Lamont fan c
lub just give it a rest?

His chairmanship days are numbered. Once the Democrats have firm majorities in both Houses of Congress, Lieberman will be shown the door. His seniority as a Democrat will be over. He can caucus with the Independents.
