Maybe he does not know the difference between aproving or not aproving the bill. Where is Lieberman when he needs him?

Stunning after all the spit and sputter he and his twin Dubya put up about it tempting militarty personnel to leave the service. This beyond flip-flop ... I would suggest it crosses the line of fraud if he is now presenting this as if he had anything positive to do with it.

If he is with Latinos he supports immigration reform, if he is with the right wingnuts he opposes it, We cannot tell he does not please everybody. He bends with the win. Great quality for a president

He doesn't know how to operate one of new fangled computers and Cindy hasn't explained you tube to him....or he forgot. I'm almost his age, and sure as hell wouldn't vote for myself

No doubt someone already pointed this out but he is clearly talking about his own bill, not the Webb bill. A simple google will help clear things up.

It's not going to stop. For whatever reasons, and they may become more apparent, McCain is not at the top of his game. And the top wasn't so great to begin with.

On a list of a (baker's) dozen reasons why McCain is going to lose, # 7:

7. The Not So Straight-talk Factor: McCain has built his reputation on being a man of principle. This has two features: he believes in something and he sticks with what he believes in. McCain has recently begun to backpedal on principles and commitments. He is vulnerable to being viewed as a flip-flopper, if not dishonest, which will undermine his hitherto greatest strength.

Now that Mac has not had his vote counted either way he will claim as he did he supported it and people will believe him because MSM is not willing to be loud and say he opposed it all the way. A few on cable said he opposed it and then nothing else. All this plus going to Canada to dine with peple who owns houses in Az. Then Cindy the Stepford wife is being sent to the UK to bring back lots of bucks from those who would benefit from more bush years to add to the coffers. Yeah Mac is a poor man with aspirations for the big job. He scares me a whole lot!!

Actually McCain didn't vote against this bill. He didn't vote on it at all. Why? He was at a fundraiser in California that day.

The Obama campaign should just run this clip daily for the rest of the election cycle and it may well be 538-0 come November.

John McCain is a liar and a fraud. That this man who much like George W. Bush, got his claim to fame based on the honors of his father and grandfather, lived the life of a partier and womanizer, and is thought to be the best on foreign affairs and America's security because he survived being a POW. It is sickening. Nobody discredits his survival abilities and his experience as a POW, but THIS does not make him an analytical thinker or an honest man. He's clearly neither.

He is shameful for taking credit for a Bill that he fought tooth and nail. The media are complicit in this lie if they don't shout it out on every broadcast. And the Democrats will continue to be wimps if they don't hold him accountable for his lies, flip-flops, and truly terrible ideas. We ought not even have to go through this election, considering what a no-nothing this faux candidate is named McCain.

Is this so different from Obama saying in his TV ad that he worked to extend "health care for wounded troops who'd been neglected" but he didn't vote on it? Or his reversal on NAFTA or public financing or any number of other issues? They both flop around on issues trying to get votes. It's politics as usual. Is this admirable? No. Do they both do it? Yeah. Is this a story? No.

No, he didn't. Check the record. 6 senators did not vote that day and he was 1 of them.

Yeah, you're right, but it's the AMOUNT OF TIMES that they do it that exposes a serious pattern. McCain continues to LIE over and over again. He continues to misspeak over and over again. This shows a serious pattern on his persona that is not admirable. These actions wave a serious RED FLAG to us Americans. We will not elect a person with these issues to be our next president!

Do some research and some comparisons. You might be surprised of the number of flip flops on both sides.

McCain actively campaigned against the new GI bill claiming that it would hurt retention (even though increased recruitment would negate that argument). He actually got into a public dust up with Obama over it, stating that he wouldn't accept criticism from someone who didn't see fit to serve. So, he most certainly cannot claim credit for a bill he fought vehemently against and did not vote for.

In contrast, Obama authored a portion of the National Defense Authorization Act, which improved veterans healthcare. He also amended a piece of legislation to provide outpatient care and benefits (such as free family phone calls) to Iraq veterans. That's why he can honestly state that he worked to extend "health care for wounded troops who'd been neglected."

Obama has never flip-flopped on NAFTA. He's always been pro-trade, but he's argued that NAFTA needs to be fixed because it lacks proper environmental and labor standards. Right now work is getting shipped to Mexico specifically to save the cost of following such standards in the US.

The campaign finance issue is a joke. Obama agreed to work toward an agreement with his opponent. However, it's pretty hard to work out an agreement when your opponent is flagrantly violating primary finance laws, giving free license 527s, and does an end-run around spending caps by creating a combined fund accepting individual donations of up to $70,000. Since McCain is unwilling to fix any of that, no deal is really possible.

how did he reverse on NAFTA? He was consistent.

Obama: My Core Position Has Never Changed That "I've Always Been A Proponent Of Free Trade And I've Always Been A Believer That We Have To Have Strong Environmental Provisions And Strong Labor Provisions In Our Trade Agreements."

On public financing - how did he flip flop on that? He simply took the better option. When you have options laid out in front of you that was not available before, which one of us would not accept the one that better serves our purposes? i.e. you get offered a loan by one company and you figure you will probably go for it. Then a few months later, you get another offer with a lower interest rate and better terms and you never signed any contracts locking you into the original offer . . . most of us would choose the better offer.

AIn't this a b**ch? This is deep. Taking credit for a bill he opposed, now that he sees it's popular--the media would go nuts if BO did this.

Let's see what he flip flops on next. I'm hoping that dude who wore the porpoise suit to taunt Mitt Romney can be persuaded to come out of retirement to follow around McCain. He has earned it at least as much as Romney did!
