This shows why he didn't go to Washington to vote on it (being the only senator not on his deathbed absent from the vote). It enabled him to Flip or Flop either way on the outcome, claiming that he supports the bill and that its good or, in the always unlikely case that it wasn't passed, that he always felt it wasn't a good idea. He's trying to be shrewd. Too bad for Methuselah here that he doesn't understand that if its been said on tape, its on the internet. Almost feel bad for him, until i remember how much I want him to lose.

Ok , that does it! some one send this old man to the doctor and find out if he has altimerze (spelling sorry?) desease! There absolutely has to be something wrong with him! Just a couple weeks ago he was completely against this G.I. Bill! I almost feel sorry for him lately! My uncle was that age, same skin cancer and sever arthritus when his memory started going. My nieghbor is his age now, and she says he's just to old. She says there simply is no way any one their age can keep up that kind of twiking around the country, and up all hours, and have jet leg and still keep their health intack. I just couldn't truest this poor old man to lead this country with his problems. Eight years ago when he was up with every thing, and a real maverick I would have voted for him. But not now, not watching him faulter every day and getting worse as this election goes on. It's just so sad.

Here we go again!!

McBush flip flops more than a fish out of water!! This is just beyond belief. I'm just waiting . . . now that this has come out I'm sure he will deny that he was ever against the GI Bill . . . nevermind that it's on tape!!

Has he been tested for dementia recently?? Can any intelligent, reasonable person really want this man leading our country??

Maybe by November he'll forget that he's running!

*tilts head to side like RCA/Victor dog*
"Huh?"

Excuse me but wasn't he vehemently against this GI Bill? Am I wrong on this?

wow. The attacks on Obama aren't working so now he's taking credit for stuff he opposed because 'it polls well'. sheesh.

Straight Talk my a**.

I had the same response. What the devil??? Someone has to get Mc on this one. How dare he??? Perhaps Mc thinks he's being shrewd, but he really looks like he's having too many "senor moments" to be running for president.

In fairness, McCain likely has no idea how he voted.

yea in fairness McCain hasn't vote since the begining of April, like so many other bills that would be good for veterans and military he almost never votes or he vote aganst on those on rare occasions.

He didn't vote on it. The last time he was in the Senate to vote on anything was April '08.

He was at a fundraiser for himself in California when the vote took place. I remember it well,

Huffpost, can you add video of McCain explaining why he opposed the GI Bill? It was only about 3 or 4 weeks ago he was talking about what a bad idea it was....

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:00 PM on 06/27/2008

I knew he would flip flop on this one. This was one of the best issues against McCain.
And of course he thinks that he has placed it off the table by supporting the bill now.

The people in the military are smart. And they will will make their decision accordingly in November.
McCain will say anything in order to get elected and McCain's flip flops make Obama look straight as an arrow.

As a veteran who wrote to Grampy McSame because he opposed passage of the GI Bill he now wants to claim credit for, I am sickened by his lack of compassion for his fellow veterans. He should be ashamed of himself.

One more absurdity that'll slip through the conveniently placed cracks of the MSM.
