Terry McAuliffe: Hillary Could Become Pope

Former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe said Thursday night that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) could do anything she wants now that her presidential campaign has ended, including become pope.

McAuliffe was speaking at a fundraiser headlined by both Clinton and Barack Obama organized to help pay down some of Clinton's debt. More than 200 of both Clinton and Obama's top Washington fundraisers showed up for an event

"This, folks, was a magnificent race," McAuliffe said, according to the pool report. "This party is on fire."

Ancient lore has it that, at one time, laymen could become RC Cardinals & Bishops. There are legends that St Peter had a wife. The primative early Christians didn't require their priests to be celebate(sp?). The RC church law which restricted the priesthood to celebate males came later.
Some Orthodox churches allow their priests to be married but don't allow married priests to become bishops. The office of a Roman Pope or pope-like clergyperson is one more way the Eastern Orthodox Church differs from the RC's Many modern Protestant Churches ordain women.
There always is a possibility that God could reveal to an RC Pope that He wanted women to be ordained as priests; God's will could be accomplished by a faithful RC Pope.
While Hillary R Clinton might decline to assume the burden of becoming the RC Pope, another woman might accept this burden.
Terry's ravings could be seen as the words of a prophet. It's said that God works in strange ways. If Hillary wouldn't assume the Papacy, Madonna or some other accomplished woman might give the Papicy a try. Madonna has retained the services of a noted divorce lawyer. Who knows what the 21st century might bring?
