Eight days ago in Jacksonville, Florida, Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) predicted to a crowd of supporters that he would soon face race-based attacks from the right:

They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?

Well as long as the G.O.P. is starting to play the race card, and when they say things like that Obama is John Kerry with a tan. Then the question posed to them should be (since we are on a world stage) would you kindly explain to us what is a "Tan" and just what has that have to to do with anything.

"Naijaman" you are correct this is no joke this is their new attack. I attended a Service at Cornerstone Church in Madison, Tn Friday night. It was a very Patriotic Service ending with an "Indoor Fireworks" show. The Pastor , who pridefully speaks from a Conservative stance, of this Church stood up and said the following:

"The media is presenting Obama to us as a lie. They are telling us that he is representing the African American population. I want to know where I am represented in this deal. Obama is half white! He is NOT a black man and according to Steve Gill (local Conservative Radio Show Host) he is part Arab and that makes him more WHITE than anything."

The possibilities of this election are causing certain segments of our population to have mental breakdowns. Is this what is left for the Conservatives to try?? Water cooler talk??? "Psssst, did you hear the latest?? Obama is not really a black man. It's a lieeeeee. It's a lieeeee!!"

In fact, Obama reportedly used the phrase "Yes, we can" during his 2004 Senate campaign -- a full year before Ahmadinejad was elected in 2005.

Anyone who thinks race is not an issue in this election is living in denial, or confusion. I just received an email from a manager in my workplace that opened my eyes to her true feelings. And yes, I was shocked. Yesterday she forwarded an Obama smear from gopusa.com and today racist slurs against Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and the people of New Orleans inablity to understand weather warnings communicated in "caucasian" terms. An exerpt [A black congresswoman (this would be Sheila Jackson Lee, of Houston) reportedly complained that the names of hurricanes are all Caucasian sounding names.]

Yes, I replied and informed the woman her email was offensive. Like many, she fowards every email she gets to her entire distribution list. without thinking about the content. But with this one, she stopped to edit the distribution; a coworker of mine was not sent the email. I now have to consider how her true feelings may have affected his recent promotion attempt.

I sure wish the american people understood their media machines are much more interested in hiding news from you, than actually delivering the news. Our biggest problems are not what they are covering or how they are covering it.....our problem is that they are capable of blacking out what is happening. The number of issues that they black-out is increasing geometrica­lly....in proportion to how much control and power they have and also dependent on what they have hidden in the past. Kind of like keeping track of your lies. If you don't lie, you have nothing tohide. If you lie once, you always have to keep that lie in mind for the next time so you don't muddle your story. This is just basic Karl Rove palybook for how to handle an indefensible (though desired) attack by a surrogate:

First news cycle: Ignore, hope it will go away.
Second news cycle: If it hasn't gone away point out that the proxy was not speaking for the campaign.
Third news cycle: If it hasn't gone away, say that your 'regret that the statement occured and you do not agree with it.
Fourth news cycle: If it still hasn't gone away release the proxy while having other surrogates paint the person as the 'victim of a political witch hunt' or something like that. Which is fine because by the end of the fourth news cycle 'John Kerry with a tan" will be burned into the lexicon of your most gullible supporters.
