McCain Heckled By Anti-War Protesters During Latino Conference Speech (VIDEO)

McCain gave a speech at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials' 25th annual conference today, in an effort to court a key, swing-voting constituency. McCain's speech, however, was interrupted at least three times by protesters. One protester was particularly vocal, holding up a large pink sign that says 'McCain equals' war in Spanish, and shouting "your silence is consent to war crimes" as they escorted her out of the hall. Another protester interrupted the end of McCain's remarks, and the Senator can be seen holding up his hands in exasperation.

As an American, it hurts me to see that citizens of this country feel the need to disrupt events in such a manner. Every time I see a disruption like this, my stomach goes into knots. It's unfortunate but necessary though, in order to draw attention to the war and its need to end. It is also necessary to try to get McCain off his 'game' and force him to see that we don't want another Republican administration like Bush-which is exactly what he is promising us. I truly support these protesters. Thank you for standing up for so many other Americans who agree with you.

Yes, they should report to barbed wire cages in order to protest. I have seen Young Republicans doing the same thing at a John Edwards rally. That's why they have the International Union of Pipe Fitters and Steam Fitters doing security at Democratic events.

Given the way the Dixie Chicks were treated by Clear Channel for exercising their free speech rights, you are hardly in a position to criticize CodePink's tactics against the war.

They show up at a lot of his speeches with their same old schtick. They've done this many times already. If you're expecting him to blow up over their tired act, you'll have along wait. it's more likely that everyone will be bored to death.
