I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Bush Gi Bill

President George W, Bush wasn't exactly a friend to the efforts put forth by Senators Jim Webb (D-VA) and John Warner (R-VA) as they worked to secure bipartisan, veto-proof support for an updated U.S. G.I. Bill, which would provide our veterans with enhanced educational opportunities. But Bush is stuck with the bill now, so naturally, he went in front of the press and deemed himself pleased with its passage.

It didn't escape our attention though, that as Bush acknowledged the House and Senate members who came together to support the bill, he slipped in the name of one who labored to obstruct the bill -- Senator John McCain. Instead of being rightly excluded from the list of thanks, McCain was given the same credit as those who had steered the passage of the bill from day one. Surely, though, John McCain will correct the President, because STRAIGHT TALK, RIGHT?

[WATCH.]

BUSH: The bill is a result of close collaboration between my administration and members of both parties on Capitol Hill. I appreciate the hard work of my cabinet, especially the leaders of Defense and State and Veterans' Affairs and Office of National Drug Control Policy, as well as OMB. I want to thank House and Senate leadership and leaders of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees. I am particularly grateful to Congressmen Boehner, Hoyer, Obey and Lewis. I want to thank members who worked hard for the G.I. Bill expansion, especially Senators Webb and Warner, Graham, Byrd, and McCain. This bill shows the American people that even in an election year, Republicans and Democrats can come together to stand behind our troops and their families.

Well, if the President said it, it must be true-just like the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, the connection between Saddam and 9-11, the connection between Saddam and al Qaeda. President Bush is our duly elected leader and we should trust everything he says and does because he's only trying to protect us from evil Islamofascists who are hell bent on trying to harm us.

Wow, that Kool-aid I just drank is a pretty good buzz. Just look at how complete my departure from reality became when I was under its influence. A couple of more sips and I'll be voting for the Cheney/Voldemort ticket this year.

McCain did work hard on this bill. Only thing is, his work was all against it. That's why Bush liked liked his efforts so much.

I'm no longer amazed at the outright lies coming from this administration. What amazes me are the mindless millions that still believe in it. I work with a guy that's part of the 23% approval rating that Bush has. He actually believes there were weapons of mass destruction and we're winning Iraq. However, he didn't take part in the old GI Bill and could probably care less about the new GI Bill. He's never taken a class! He's John McCain all the way---except for one minor detail---he has NO idea what the man stands for. Wow!! How sad that there are people that stupid in 2008. These are your Republicans of the future. LOL!!

Why isn't McCain coming forward to correct the record? He knows full well that was an outright lie to mislead the American People.

I know quite a few people who are among the 23%. They are not IQ stupid but they definately don't want to know the truth. If they allowed the truth to enter their brain, they would have to admit they were wrong to support all these lying ass neo-cons. But for the most part, most Republican supporters are stupid and proud of it. If you'll notice, most lib-to-moderate people admire people who are smarter than them and most conservatives admire people who are dumber than them. It makes them feel better about themselves, I guess. Just remember, only 25-30% of Germans were Nazi's and look how they almost screwed the entire world and caused the deaths of 7 million of their own countrymen. Never underestimate the stupidity of large groups of seemingly normal people.

I think we all know a few people that can't admit they made a mistake by voting for Bush TWICE! My friend too listens to Rush, Hannity, etc. She can't think for herself she just parrots the "talking points" because you know that global warming is a hoax caused by liberals who want to destroy America by raising the price of oil due to not drilling and that CEOs make what they deserve or else they wouldn't be making all that money and that outsourcing is good for America because it rids us of all the "menial" jobs. It would almost be funny if she weren't so convinced of it.

Some people are filled with anger and hate and will never see the light.

Who are these religious right folks that supported Bush b/c of his religious beliefs? I want to know who they are. Do they have blinders on? How can they explain these lies coming from Bush? He and McSame didn't support this bill and yet he knowingly gives McBush credit for it?!?! How come the "first class ticket to heaven" folks are not yelling faul here?

It's so shameful it hurts! Again, I'm staying an atheist...
