Joe Lieberman On Face

Lacking any cogent plan to solve America's problems or a platform of coherent policy proposals, the McCain campaign has got only a few stale acts in its repertoire. One is empty headed fear-mongering. That's the role that the GOP's aide-de-camp Joe Lieberman found himself playing on this week's Face The Nation, where he warned that al Qaeda would "test the new President early." What does that mean for Joe Lieberman? That means America needs John McCain, who will be "ready on day one" to continue the Bush administration's policies of appeasement that have allowed al Qaeda to regroup, flourish, and uhm . . . presumably plan this welcome-wagon act that Lieberman is predicting. Anyway, the joke will be on everybody else when George W. Bush crowns himself President-for-Life, thus foiling al-Qaeda's plans forever.

[WATCH.]

LIEBERMAN: We need a president who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief on day one. Senator McCain is - incidentally, Senator Clinton said that over and over again and she was right. She was ready to be president on day one. Why? Because our enemies will test the new president early. Remember that the truck bombing at the World Trade Center happened in the first year of the Clinton administration. 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration. John McCain is ready to take the reins on January 20, 2009. He doesn't need any training.

OMG ... They (Bush Administration) are planning on bombing America even when they are no longer in Power ?

No wonder they are so keen on putting tight WRAPS on their telephone conversations in the new FISA Bill ...

Most corrupt Administration in American History goes to ................

The odds are very slim to none of Booosh attacking Iran.... First the US military is stretched thin with 2 wars... & countries like Iran have learned from misadventuers in Iraq by US ...is not to fight head-on with US.... it is the low-tech guirilla warfare that works... Just look at what is happening in Iraq ....after 6 years we are no way near to win anything ... In that part fo the world our enemies know that they can hit & run ..do the car bombings, suicide bombings etc .. The Al Quida is supported by the Arabs - they pay them off to leave them alone ...look at no bombings/terorrist attacks now in countries surrounding Iraq ... so Al Quida is well & alive & have the money to get the suicide bombers [those radicals there are so badly brain washed & the enemy gets them by being as Martyr & go to heaven] so they dont lack these suicide bombers ...& now this tactic is being employed in Afghanistan .....
Boosh made the biggest blunder to invade Iraq & our foes have learned their lessons ...Boosh can talk but he does not have the means to do anything so they dont pay any attention to him ...Just look at Iran ...plus the war has become unpopular at home .. with trillons spent in Iraq & lives of our soilders lost & no end in sight ... It will be foolhardy for Booosh to attack Iran....

In your own words, ... "Boosh made the biggest blunder to invade Iraq". He has proven himself consistently foolhardy, and will do it again.

Slim to none? No dear, he is already instigating a war with them, sending in ops. Ya don't do that unless you have ulterior motives. Bush wants the oil, he wants to be able to declare martial law. Why do you think he is working so hard to shut down the media? If the media gets shut down, the public won't know what is going on, will have no voice, power. Lieberman is a stooge for bush, and be damn sure he has insider info on this new attack. And No, you won't even hear about it on CNN, can you say corporate owned? Hello. Chatter is rampant that this is going to go down. he might let them hit first to justify a fake attack, but yeah, if he is talking about it, its not just idle words on tile.

I wonder how's the betting going on Bush attacking Iran before the election. Anyone know what the odds are now?

20% odds in the market, last I saw.

But if McCain is still down in Sept., a smallish bombing campaign gives him a great chance to posture as an enthusiastic warrior, while putting Obama in a tough spot. It might backfire politically, but if the alternative is a sure loss, I think they will take the gamble.

Obama will have a chance if he stands up the way he did at the start of the Iraq war. If he mumbles his way to some vague support, he'll lose because even people in the middle will lose respect for him.

2012, but long before that, in fact, on 1/20/09 when the Dems seat 55+ Democratic US Senators, they need to strip Joe L. of all committee assignments and toss him out of the Party.

When is the Democratic Party going to finally kick this Shar Pei to the curb? Sorry, that was NOT meant to insult Shar Peis.

The REAL QUESTION IS:

What does Joe Lieberman know that the rest of us don't?

It almost sounds like a promise.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:52 PM on 06/30/2008

He is taunting our enemies to strike us. He wants us to invade Iran in defense of Isreal. His concern for the US takes a backseat to Isreal.

Dementia is running deep in these older pols. There needs to be forced retirement or a mental health assessment with results made public.

Lieberman is so dang pathetic.

So in other words, Lieberman must believe Bush national security policies are lacking so we will be attacked as a result. However, continuing Repub policies are the best solution anyway. Sounds schizo to me. Way to go, Joe. I certainly hope the good folks on CT see through you now.

HIs concern is more with Isreal than the US. He wants a strike on Iran. He knows that the chances of that happening with McBush are higher. He wants revenge.

It's not often I wish people should just disappear, but this is one man that I wish would just get swallowed by a volcano. He's a disgrace to humanity!

So if I parse what Smokin Joe is saying...it is that after seven years of George Bush's leadership in the war on terror Al-Qaeda still has an unfettered ability to strike us in the time, place, and manner of their own choosing. Moreover neither a President McCain nor a President Obama can stop it so the important thing is who is better prepared to immediately take action and....continue to do just what Bush has done?

You hit it right on the head! Do you think he's aware of what he said?
Isn't it sad that Gen Clark's innocuous comment is everywhere and NOT ONE network stops to think about what Judas said?

I don't get Joe Lieberman. He was apparently traumatized by Sept 11th, but instead of holding Bush's feet to the fire for letting bin Laden grow old in peace, he attacks his own party for not adequately coddling Bush's incompetence.

If I believed for one minute that the Bush admin had made us safer, I would give the maximum allowed to McCain. Instead, I see a nation weakened by Bush fearmongering, that has alienated its closest allies, entrenched itself in a useless, expensive war, and pushed its economy to the brink of bankruptcy.

Wake up, Joe. You are stuck in pre-Iraq thinking.

Lieberman is a terrorist, his tool of terror is his stupidity something he seems to have alot of. Pretty brave for a chickenhawk but wait they are all brave as long as its not them or their family. Joe is done after this election when the Dems don't need him his office will be done in the basement until he is voted out the next election.

I agree with wolf58, Lieberman is a sleepy eyed traitor whose eyes are clearly not open to reality. The voters in his home state were duped into re-electing him. Either that or they are more sleepy eyed than he is. GOD spare us the likes of Lieberman. He is another anti-American.

Yes, he is a criminal and a terrorist. That is why he is gonna have a heart-attack soon. It is unfortunate that he has not chocked on the chunks of meat he has been swallowing without chewing but. Joe is an unwanted miscreant; a political opportunist who wishes terrorist harm on us for the sake of putting him in power. The opposite will happen to him.
