Lieberman Predicts Attack Will Come Early In Next Presidency

Lacking any cogent plan to solve America's problems or a platform of coherent policy proposals, the McCain campaign has got only a few stale acts in its repertoire. One is empty headed fear-mongering. That's the role that the GOP's aide-de-camp Joe Lieberman found himself playing on this week's Face The Nation, where he warned that al Qaeda would "test the new President early." What does that mean for Joe Lieberman? That means America needs John McCain, who will be "ready on day one" to continue the Bush administration's policies of appeasement that have allowed al Qaeda to regroup, flourish, and uhm . . . presumably plan this welcome-wagon act that Lieberman is predicting. Anyway, the joke will be on everybody else when George W. Bush crowns himself President-for-Life, thus foiling al-Qaeda's plans forever.

LIEBERMAN: We need a president who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief on day one. Senator McCain is - incidentally, Senator Clinton said that over and over again and she was right. She was ready to be president on day one. Why? Because our enemies will test the new president early. Remember that the truck bombing at the World Trade Center happened in the first year of the Clinton administration. 9/11 happened in the first year of the Bush administration. John McCain is ready to take the reins on January 20, 2009. He doesn't need any training.

Oh, my. Not another one! Didn't we just go through this??? Extreme cynicism, on display, and not even feeling ashamed of it! Don't they think that something like this could possibly, may I suggest it, backfire? Or maybe they think voters are too stupid to follow politics and won't register what they said? Or maybe they actually believe that voters would choose to see things like they do - we will be attacked, and because of that, we need a GOP in the chair? Well.
The last one's wars are what's making the Muslim parts of the world (and some Christian parts of the world) mad. When American soldiers rape Iraqi women they're supposed to defend, people close to or identifying with these women won't go silent and stop raging against the US. That's the kind of thing that makes terrorism grow, not go away. So is photos of tortured prisoners while American soldiers, men and women alike, stand next to them smiling. And so is treating prisoners like they're treated at Guantanamo, giving s**t in human rights, closing people up for years without them being tried for court. Sure. W has done such a great job the world would be a safer place if we gave him a Third term? Why should anyone believe anything like that? The world would be a lot safer with change in the White House.

Gore wanted to "play it safe" and demonstrate his "independence" from Bill Clinton. So he chose the sanctimonious, pro-corporate, self-righteous, lecturing, hypocritical, pious, "religious" Joe LIE-berman.

Lieberman it must be remembered also:

1. Had the worst ever performance in a Vice Presidential debate. He had to have his lips unglued from Dick Cheney's bottom when it was all over.
2. Told Al Gore and his backers that they "had to" accept any and all Florida election ballots that were postmarked AFTER Election Day---even though this violated the law---if they came from people serving in the military. That alone assured that Bush would win. But Lieberman didn't care.
3. The reason Lieberman didn't care is that he ran simultaneously for Vice President and US Senate. So he had a good job anyway. But, if Gore had been allowed to take the White House he rightfully won, Lieberman would have then thrown the Senate into GOP hands, because his resignation as Conn. senator would have meant the Republican governor chooses his six year replacement. Anyone who cared about the Democratic Party would have resigned once nominated for VP, or would have turned down Gore's offer.

Lieberman is so putrid. And such a liar.
