GOP's Teresa Heinz Kerry Attacks Come Back To Bite With Cindy

In 2004, Republicans demanded fuller disclosure about the considerable fortune of Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.

Now, the GOP is reaping what it sowed.

Having established a recent precedent for increased scrutiny of spousal finances, the party now finds its own presumptive nominee, John McCain, under an unwanted spotlight over the fortune of his wife, Cindy.

Dear Senator & Mrs. McCain,

Americans are suffering.

We cannot keep pace with rising food, fuel and healthcare prices in the face of job loss and a shrinking economy. We no longer live from paycheck to paycheck. Instead, we fall ever farther behind every month.

We are losing our footing as our real wages fall every year and many of us are jobless, homeless and helpless under the heels of the machine that you appear to support wholeheartedly.

The fact that you, Mrs. McCain, spend GROTESQUE amounts of money on clothing, and luxury condos via money that you yourself did not earn is beneath disgusting.

You, madam, are offering us a portrait of a modern day Marie Antoinette. "Let them eat cake," say you, through a corpse-like rictus grin.

And, Senator McCain, the fact that you condone this behavior, actually presuming that hard working Americans would vote for a candidate that private jets through political life in the lap of surreal luxury, is proof enough to convince me and most patriotic citizens of good conscience to do everything in our power to see to Senator Obama's election.

I bet you don't even know that lots of people are now using credit cards to pay their federal income taxes. For all you know, that's what this high credit card tab was for.

Funny you bring up paying their taxes on credit cards but not that they failed to pay taxes on one of their homes for four years.

We do know how much the McCains paid in Federal taxes, and unlike the rest of us, their percentage was incredibly low, far below $750,000.00
