Teenager Bounces Baby Off Pillow, Is Arrested (VIDEO)

A Georgia 16-year old, the star of a hard-to-watch YouTube video in which he catapults an 8-month-old baby off of a pillow, has been arrested for cruelty to children. The boy was apprehended after one of his school teachers saw the video and informed police. The child, who was in the care of the boy's family at the time, was taken to the doctor by its parents and there is no word yet if there were serious injuries.

Children and animals are at the mercy of young and adult humans. This is just one stupid thing out of probably thousands that happen every day all over the world that we don't see.

I know - it breaks my heart, in fact it tears my soul apart. Knowing there is someway to eleviate this incredibly violent and ignorant behavior and save defenseless beings going forward is what I look for. In the meantime, how did this teenager have that kind of alone time with the dear baby boy?

I just wish mothers would put their children first, especially a tiny baby like this. I gave up everything to have my only son and the only person allowed to watch him besides my husband and I, was my mom. If she could not help out, I cancelled doctor appointments or took him with me. I planned everything around my husband and my mom's schedule. I would never have left him with friends or a babysitter. I valued his life more than my own. Obviously some parents don't.
This baby would still have the soft spot in it's skull and this horrifying movement could hurt his neck and cause God knows what kinds of injuries to soft tissues and those tiny little bones. How frightened this baby must have been. This could probably increase the risk of crib death for this child.
This has been very upsetting to learn of and has made me cry. I wish the news network would report what actually happens to this 16 year old a$$hole. He has obviously had some very bad parenting and has never learned anything about love, kindness, compassion or anything about caring for small babies. Why would anyone have left him alone with this tiny, helpless baby? This makes me so angry.

While there is no excuse for what this moron did, it MIGHT have been a surprise to his parents also. The jerk should be severely punished, but until you know the whole story, don't blame the parents - yet anyway.

The poster never said the parents were "no good". Just that the parents had priorities above their baby.

There are always alternatives. Live on less cash. If that's not possible, structure your jobs so someone is always home with your children. My spouse and I staggered our jobs so one of us was always home with our kids. It was tough and meant a lot less cash. Our kids didn't go on exotic vacations like their classmates, they didn't have the latest trendy games/gaming systems, but they survived.

Who raised these teenagers? Where is their compassion? Where is their understanding that they are responsible for the safety of a baby? How is it that they never learned what it means to protect someone smaller than they are? How is it that they don't understand instinctively that they could hurt the baby and what that could mean? If you could care less, that means you care at least a little. The original is quite sarcastic and the other form is clearly nonsense. The inverted form I could care less was coined in the US and is found only here, recorded in print by 1966. The question is, something caused the negative to vanish even while the original form of the expression was still very much in vogue and available for comparison - so what was it? There are other American English expressions that have a similar sarcastic inversion of an apparent sense, such as Tell me about it!, which usually means 'Don't tell me about it, because I know all about it already'. The Yiddish I should be so lucky!, in which the real sense is often 'I have no hope of being so lucky', has a similar stress pattern with the same sarcastic inversion of meaning as does I could care less.

He's 16 and the laws regarding juveniles don't allow the police to release the name. And that's also why the TV news program blurs his face in the report. His name will come out eventually, not least after he turns 18.

I bet there will be more charges. The other boy who video taped the incident should be charged as well. He's as much a participant as the kid who's doing the jumping.

And I won't be surprised if his parents aren't charged with criminal child neglect as well for leaving that baby with those two boys.

The best baby sitters I ever used were teenagers. One was a boy and one was a girl. They were both wonderful. There have been plenty of videos caught on nanny cams of older sitters mistreating infants and children too. I always thought that the point was to leave my child with someone that I knew very, very well. And, as seen with this boy, not to leave a child with someone I knew I could trust unless I knew that they were going to be with the child the whole time I was gone. This boy's parents left him alone with the baby, but I bet the baby's parents didn't intend that he would be the care giver. The world gets ever more crazy. Perhaps we've reached a time where we have to have video cameras covering every room and the care givers have to know they're being recorded so that things are prevented instead of recorded. Not a bad idea for school rooms either. A lot of verbal abuse goes on in class rooms that would stop if it was all out in the open. This is how I knew I had good sitters: Every time my daughter saw her baby sitter, from eight months old onward, she lit up like a great big ball of joy.

I had two baby sisters and I made dam sure that they did not get much as a scratch when I was left to take care of them when my parents went out. But I've seen plenty of girls who had no clue as to their responsibility when it came to taking care of babies or small children. The boys in this video are sick!
