The Hill:

A Philadelphia news radio station has rejected a Democratic ad that features an impersonator of President Bush thanking GOP congressional candidates for supporting the "Big Oil" agenda.

Philadelphia KYW-AM Vice President and General Manager David Yadgaroff said his station decided not to run the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) ad because it was worried its listeners would be misled.

"As an all-news station, we were concerned that our listeners would have been misled by usage of an impersonator in the creative delivery," Yadgaroff said in an e-mail sent to The Hill.

The neo-con agenda:
Burn the Constitution!
Do away with Habeas Corpus.
Do away with Free Speech.
Eliminate Warrants.
Begin Religious wars with any coutnries who aren't sheep like the Evangelical Fundementalcases in the Oval Office.
Reinstitute slavery.
Reduce Women to servants.
And perhaps most dangerous of all, CENSOR anything that doesn't conform to their un-American agenda!
Smells an awful lot like the fascist filth of the 30's and 40's doesn't it?

And would they reject Swiftboat ads or ads from other right-wing 527s that are fraught with blatant lies and deceptions? No, of course not. They would label it "informational and instructive".

This is dangerous stuff here. When radio and tv entities act in a politically biased fashion by refusig to air ads from those who don't happen to share their views. It is nothing less than political censorship and it must be stopped.

Barack Obama's campaign funding advantage can be hurt seriously if more media outlets assume the same posture. This is wrong and if the shoe were on the other foot, the Republicans would be SCREAMING at the top of their lungs.

This station should be closely monitored by watchdog groups on the left. If they are not true to their word about keeping with an all news format, they should be exposed on the internet. This station is in some ways a test case. If they can get away with this without consequence, others will follow. If on the other hand they catch hell for it, it will be a warning to other stations run by right wingers not to try to pull this stuff.

Perhaps they just don't air attack ads from anyone. You have no evidence to the contrary. You just ASSUME since it fits your imagery of a 'vast right-wing conspiracy'.

At least my assumptions are based on actual evidence. What are your assumptions based on?

The radio station V.P. was the only one to correctly evaluate the intelligence of his listeners by implying that they would think that it was Bush himself, rather than an impersonator.

Anyone remember that broadcast of Ellen where Neil Patrick Harris comically simulated getting his head guillotened? She was flooded with letters from "worried" viewers who thought that Neil had died on-air.

Perhaps if there was a slightly higher level of intelligence in this country, the confusion over parody and reality wouldn't exist.

In other words, a walking parody like Bush himself would never have been elected in the first place.

Here we go again. This isn't even 2004 and the Shrub isn't even running and we still have this type of censorship going on. Is this Iraq?

Is this censorship and a violation of the first amendment? I would expect this in Zimbabwe but America, wow.

Zimbabwe. There ya go. It is always comical to watch and see just how far the rhetoric and hyperbole gets ramped up. I've never seen a limit.

Hey Czech unrepublic, just another naive Fox news junkie who thinks its normal to filter the news to suit your opinion. My friend you are a pathetic joke cut from the same mold as your buddy Ruppert.

The First Amendment applies to the government supressing free speech, NOT a private company.

If you don't like what you hear, try this idea.........CHANGE THE STATION!!

When the government starts to mandate what a station should air, then it would be Zimbabwe.

What a bunch of nuts!

I still want to know how the press was paid off by the Bush administration regarding the coffins coming home. Why don't we see that Mr. President? Too much reality for the American people!!!!

As hurtin' as this economy is, I am shocked they turned down the ad money.
If they think their audience is so stupid, just who will be listening once the Station has offended them and they no longer listen or support the advertisers?

You need a mental Czech . . . . the airwaves are PUBLIC granted licenses that are sold without discrimination to the highest bidder . . . see Murdock . . . as as "Public" anyone should have the legal right to take any POLITICAL position desired. Unless it is counter to FCC obscenity or public decency rules - it is "protected speech" . . one of the "Rights" over 4,000 U.S. Soldiers have died to "protect" under the Decider Guys legacy . . . Happy 4th.

Did the radio station just call its listeners dumb? If they are not, will they be calling in to find out if they were just called dumb?

Well - they don't want to mislead their republican listeners - you know how gullible they are - especially after voting Bush into office twice - they'll believe anything they hear.

An insult to intelligence was what this is so show him you'e smarter than he is!!
