Rush Limbaugh On His New Deal: "I'm Not Retiring Until Every American Agrees With Me"

On his radio show Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh commented on the news of his astronomical new contract estimated at $400 million. Limbaugh told his audience, "I'm not retiring until every American agrees with me." The deal pays Limbaugh to keep dishing his views through 2016.

Mr. Limbaugh is not the only radio star who is busy pumping his franchise. Sean Hannity, the country's No. 2 host according to Talkers Magazine, is in contract talks with his current syndication company, ABC Radio, as well as Premiere, for a potential three-way deal, according to two sources close to the negotiations. They requested anonymity because the deal had not been signed.

Glenn Beck, another popular host, signed a new contract with Premiere last year that will pay him $10 million a year through 2012.

Mr. Hannity and Mr. Beck each appear on radio while hosting television shows, writing books and staging nationwide tours. Other media personalities, including Oprah Winfrey and Mr. Seacrest, also have radio engagements that feed into their cross-platform brands. But Mr. Limbaugh sticks to his self-proclaimed "golden E.I.B. microphone" -- E.I.B., for excellence in broadcasting -- and his associated Web site.

Ah yes, not to "depend on the gubmint," Limbaugh is certainly a great example of the value of hard work...how much does he work for his multi-millions? About an hour a day filling morons' heads full of hate and paranoia. HE depends on employees to procure hundreds of times more than the legal prescription amount of his controlled substances...too gutless to get it for himself. I guess the people he paid to get it for him took his advice to not depend on "gubmint," instead engaged in drug-pushing

Anybody else who did what Limbaugh did re illegal drugs would be in JAIL for a good long time (especially if the sentencing judge followed LImbaugh's own guidelines), and would be dependent on the gubmint to protect him from the other inmates.. Limbaugh wriggled out of serving, and I guess that is another thing that his dittoheads admire.

If anybody actually believes that he was trying to make an example of somebody else's exploiting of Fox, that person has got to be serverely deluded. Exactly how many seconds of somebody doing a parody of a young man with a tragic illness does it take before it becomes tasteless and disgusting. I would imagine that for most people, 15 seconds is way more than enough.

I live in a middle class neighborhood in Boston. I live near a law school and near several hospitals, so many lawyers and health care professionals live near me. Most of the people I know are well educated and well informed. The Republicans I know read George Will, The Economist, things of that nature.

My husband comes from a rural community in the South. Most of his parents neighbors are high school drop outs, got pregnant at 15, have mullets and drink beer and don't know that the United Kingdom means England. I am Italian and when I went down to visit for the first time, they thought I was a Native American because I have black hair!! They are WHITE TRASH. And Rush is VERY popular there.
