The "Swift Boaters" from 2004 are back at it.

A group of top Republican contributors who financially fueled the famous "Swift Boat" campaign ads that helped sink Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign back in 2004 are starting to regroup.

A story in today's Wall Street Journal reports on new Republican efforts to circumvent the landmark campaign finance laws named after their top candidate -- the McCain-Feingold Act of 2002.

Exactly why he opted out of public financing Any dimwit could see this coming from the Repubs. And now the NRA is getting on board with a huge smear/ad campaign, to the tune of 15 million. And what's more American than the people, the people who support you, funding your campaign, with a "max out" amount of 2,300 no matter how weatlthy you are, while not taking $$$ from PAC's or Federal lobbyists?!

Obama is no dummy. I hope all of these detractors are as loud in giving him credit as they were critical of him. People thought he was crazy for saying the republicans are masters at "gaming the system". Can you imagine if he didn’t do what he did?? The right is upset that they are not dealing with a dummy. If anyone thinks Barack is soft, they are delusional. He has proven time and time again he is strong enough to go up against the Right. He graciously absorbed all of the punches Hillary threw at him and he has taken unpopular stances necessary to ensure victory in November. I hope the left stop trying to pressure this man into these Left agendas until he is president. It is time to get behind this man and trust what he is doing. He has proven to be extremely intelligent thus far.
