Bloomberg :

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she's ``proud'' of the U.S. decision to wage the Iraq war and insisted that the world is not more dangerous than it was when George W. Bush took office.

``We're now beginning to see that perhaps it's not so popular to be a suicide bomber. We're beginning to see that perhaps people are questioning whether Osama Bin Laden ought to really be the face of Islam,'' Rice, 53, said in an interview to be broadcast this weekend on Bloomberg Television's ``Conversations with Judy Woodruff.''

Did she say "I'm Proud to Have Overthrown Saddam"? If so, that's a little different than the headline.

I hope you are just as proud when sitting in front of a war crimes tribunal.

It is amazing that a person of such collosal stupidity can be Secretary of State. It looks like the only qualification needed is to be a Butt-kisser and blinding devotion.

I will challenge her to walk Iraq 50 years, wrong 100 years from now wearing the Stars and Stripes . See if you will survive 5 minutes without an armed escort!!!

Thanks to you and your ilk, the US brand is the most hated brand in most regions of the world!

Hi,

Before the Bush II Administration, one of the tests of whether or not the US would go to war with another country was whether or not the situation was a national security threat to the US.

The Bush II Administration turned this test on its head by saying that the US should preemptively invade countries if, as VP Cheney said, there is only a one percent chance that the nation invaded was a national security threat to the US.

Perhaps Secretary Rice can explain this test.

Thank you Condi, your statements will make your conviction for the Iraq War Crime much easier.

She means: For the first time, I'm proud to be an American!

As the Secretary of State Condoleeeeeza is a good pianist!

Rather then tossing her head in pride, she should be hanging it in shame. She may not be ashamed of her role in not preventing 9/11 attacks and in supporting the invasion of Iraq, but America is ashamed of her!

She will be forever listed as a key instigator of a senseless war that had led to the deaths and injuries of thousands of Americans, the ruination of their families, and of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis - as well as the physical structure of an entire nation. Not ashamed?

Does Spandau Prison still stand? We had new residents for it. We could move it to D.C.

The invasion of Iraq was such a colossal error that "mistake" just seems insufficient. Do you call a useless step that costs 100,000+ lives and a trillion-dollars, a "mistake"?

Yet Rice won't admit it was a mistake.

IMHO, those who took us on that wasteful enterprise should retire from public life. As for those of them who cannot admit that it was an error, I don't even want to hear about them anymore. They do not deserve respect as public servants anymore. As human beings they deserve respect, but not as public servants.

[1] It looks like the Bush Administration might finally be learning (only took them 7 years). They have learned to phrase their comments differently than in the past. In the past, they'd always make their comments with the utmost certainty -- there were NO doubts! Are they NOW aware of their misleading statements? These current statements, to me, sound more forthright and realistic. I guess I'll give them a shiny Gold Star for that!

Current:
"... PERHAPS it's not so popular to be a suicide bomber."
"... PERHAPS people are questioning whether OBL ought to really be the face of Islam.''

Previous:
- Cheney: "..., there's NO DOUBT that Saddam Hussein NOW HAS weapons of mass destruction. There's NO DOUBT that he IS amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us."

- Rice: "We do KNOW that [Saddam] "IS" actively PURSUING a nuclear weapon."

Termed as "present" tense; phrased in Absolute Certainty!

[2] Unfortunately, she then says something which can NOT be verified to be 100% true (consistent with the Bush fantasy world?):

"...Rice... insisted that the world is NOT MORE DANGEROUS than it was when George W. Bush took office"

Reports have shown that Terrorism worldwide has gone UP since 2001.

It looks like I might have to take away their Gold Star!

I appreciate and your efforts and in the words of the Jackson 5,

Keep on with the force don't stop
Don't stop 'til you get enough

Do not ever stop the pursuit of the truth. That is what your comment represented to me. A closer look at what was said, what was done, and what is being said and done now in an effort to clarify and purify.

Condi and Michelle. One is proud of a pointless bloodbath and the other has never been proud of her Country until a family member might become the President.

condi,

we're all proud of iraq.
all of us are smiling on our front porch steps,
as the beautiful truth of our invasion
takes hold.

all of us now know
that we could spread democracy
through the world by force.

and that war is sometimes necessary
even if there is no cause,
but trying to wipe out an administration
we don't like.

america is always right,
and we smile by our flag
on our front porch steps,
then go off into the freedom
of american life.

all of us skip through the daffodills.

no one has trouble making ends meet,
no one is without work or in need of a job,
no one is without excellent healthcare,
no one is being evicted from their houses,
or laid off from their jobs,
or is being put in jail because they speak out against the president,
or is being tortured under our flag,
or is being spied on,
or is working at an unlivable wage,
or is shouted down for speaking the truth,
or is forced to protest a president a mile away from where he speaks,
or is forced into the military because of poverty or a criminal record,
or is sitting in jail with 2.5 million others.

america is the shining beacon on the hill -
we must force other countries to be like us.

welcome my friend,
welcome to the machine.

When are we going to tear down the wall, and beckon our national will to return from its exile on the dark side of the moon? Will we continue to have to say goodbye to blue skies? How comfortable are we in our numbness? We all wish many that have passed on were here to see animals who have taken over the White House and how like the pigs they are they have sold the country out for money and created an atmosphere of us and them, making a lot of us grow weary and long for that great gig in the sky. Rush Limbaugh wants to have his cigar of arrogance and self-absorption as America goes up in smoke. It makes you wonder is there anybody out there. It makes you want to run like hell.

Many across the nation are wondering if the country will bring the boys and the girls back home from Iraq. Hey, you, American citizen, you crazy diamond, are you clawing the thin ice of your life or are you suffering from brain damage that eclipses your ability to reason. Speak to me! For surely you know we are running out of time. Or are you a sheep that cannot speak? Maybe one day this country will not feel the need to meddle in the affairs of other nations. Maybe one of these good ole" days Americans will wake up fearless.

And speaking as a citizen who has been forced to donate tax dollars to support this evil regime, just let me say I am proud that we are finally going to get rid of the likes of you. Bye, Bye now mz rice - I hope you NEVER find another job and I hope your dreams are crowded from now until eternity with the eyes of those you have murdered, tortured, maimed, and dispossessed.

Surely there must be a way to charge and punish Condoleeza Rice, George Bush and their group for the crimes against humanity that they committed by invading Iraq. Waiting for the inevitable condemnation of history means waiting far too long.

There are many ways she could have expressed herself on this, but I don't like how she did it. She could be proud of the troops, proud of the 'progress' made, proud of just about anything. But saying she's proud of the invasion is just wrong. I have never been a fan, so this is not really surprising.
