Condoleezza Rice: I'm "Proud" Of The Decision To Invade Iraq

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she's ``proud'' of the U.S. decision to wage the Iraq war and insisted that the world is not more dangerous than it was when George W. Bush took office.

``We're now beginning to see that perhaps it's not so popular to be a suicide bomber. We're beginning to see that perhaps people are questioning whether Osama Bin Laden ought to really be the face of Islam,'' Rice, 53, said in an interview to be broadcast this weekend on Bloomberg Television's ``Conversations with Judy Woodruff.''

I get the psychology behind Rice's statement. She has no choice, she has to say it, otherwise she'd be admitting to failure. Condi doesn't do failure... All her life, she's been a high achiever.

Unfortunately for this country, we've been made to pay for her failures. Yes Condi, you failed, but if it will make you feel better, you did so at such a high achievment level, I don't think anyone can top you...

We do have control over what we are doing now in Iraq. (And can you explain to me why conservatives seem to think that pointing to atrocities committed by and in other countries somehow justifies those committed by the U.S.? I heard this constantly during the Viet Nam was, whenever a U.S. atrocity like My Lai was reported. "Well, the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong are doing a lot WORSE things." Oh, I see. I don't know about poster helonias, but as a proud supporter of Amnesty International, I have shed many tears for the tortured and mistreated of the world. The simple fact is, this woman has helped to increase the number of those people. She may be proud now but perhaps she should consult the Bible that she and her ilk thump so frequently-pride geoth before destruction says the book of Proverbs. She may be proud of torturing, maiming, and murdering now for her buddies in the Oval Office and at Exxon Mobile...b­ut it will catch up to her...if not in this life, then in the next.

And, Rice is about to find out that "it's not so popular" to be a former member of the most illegal, immoral, and incompetent administrations in history - especially since she could be this administration's poster-girl for arrogance and incompetence. If there's any justice in this world, Rice won't be returning to Stanford, she'll be facing war crimes trials along with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and others. At the very least, she should never hold ANY position in a university such as Stanford.
