US News and World Report printed a short piece about GOP fears that the President's relevance is shrinking beyond already dismal levels.

Allies Worry About President's Schedule

Some of President Bush's allies tell the Political Bulletin they are embarrassed and angry that the White House seems to be wasting Bush's time on frivolous events when much of the country is suffering through economic hard times. "Look at the schedule for Monday," says an outside Bush adviser. "A highlight of his day was witnessing a tee ball game. ... He is being reduced to child's play." The adviser says Bush also signed a supplemental appropriations bill for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Monday, but he adds that it didn't get much coverage and that the tee ball game set the wrong tone. There is growing concern among Bush allies that the Democrats will effectively portray the President and GOP candidate John McCain as out of touch. Some GOP insiders now predict that the Republicans will lose at least five seats in the Senate and 15 to 20 in the House, and it could get worse if gasoline prices continue to soar and the public remains in a disgruntled mood.

Playing T-Ball with kids?
Hollywood calls this kind of scene, "Pet the dog", designed to get viewers to like the protagonist and feel good about his intentions. Expect more of this stuff, hoping voters will once again "want to have a beer with him" (or McCain). Ah shucks, he's such a swell guy, who'd ever dream of locking him up?!

Meanwhile America, Happy Birthday! ...and remember:
By next Independence Day Dubya will have left the Whitehouse for good (but, his legacy will go on and on).

T-ball with kids, finally doing something he is qualified for! He should be in Hague, instead he and Neo-Cons are plotting destruction of Iran, another country like Iraq, that isn't a threat to us. Only threat to Americans is in the White House, not a foreign country. Impeachment should be #1, but a General placing him under arrest and sending him and Cheney to Hague is even better!! It won't cost tax payers any more money that we can't afford.

True, no greater threat to America than bushco. Hell, OBL only killed some 4000, Bush has killed many times that many civilians in Iraq, and at least that many American soldiers by ordering this inane war for oil.

isn't this the man who said he had not heard that gas could hoover around $4 about 3 months ago?

Ironically, your extra o appears to be symbolic - With the gas prices increasing rapidly, there may well be more "Hoovervilles" in the land.

In all of these photo ops with the kids, I keep having problems trying to discern who the real adult may be in the photos.

This is how Bush thinks.

The world is full o' complainers. An' the fact is, nothin' comes with a guarantee. Now I don't care if you're the pope of Rome, President of the United States or Man of the Year; somethin' can all go wrong. Now go on ahead, y'know, complain, tell your problems to your neighbor, ask for help, 'n watch him fly. Now, in Russia, they got it mapped out so that everyone pulls for everyone else... that's the theory, anyway. But what I know about is Texas, an' down here... you're on your own.

How is this any difference from what he has been doing? On September 11, 2001 what was he doing while the second plane hit the towers? Instead of hauling his butt to air force one and trying to take control of things he continued to sit and listen to the pet goat story.

Don't forget about strumming a guitar and eating cake as New Orleans drowned. But of course, as his mommy said, "Most of these people had nothing, so this is working out very well for them."

"There is growing concern among Bush allies that the Democrats will effectively portray the President and GOP candidate John McCain as out of touch." Growing concern? Both Bush and McCain are out touch. Were they ever really in touch? That would imply that actually cared about the middle and lower classes, and not during an election to put their imperial a55es in the White House.

Let's face it, Bush and his neoncompoop allies saw 9|11 as a means to grab imperial power and consolidate it for their party. Congress and the American people were duped and bamboozled. And if we don't wake up to what McCain is all about, it will be, to quote Yogi Berra, "deja vu all over again."

One of the brightest people on the planet ( Michio Kaku, a theoretical physicist who may be close to helping solve the problems Einstien was working on and arguably the smartest person alive) says the planes brought down the buildings. Good enough for me.

Rest assured that any reduction in the stature of this moron, Dubya, has been a result of his failure to perform in the position he stole from the American people. Impeachment is what he deserves short of war crimes proceedings at the Hague.

I wish he would had been playing tee-ball for eight years, instead of waging unnecessary wars, and pleasing his big oil partners by making sure they would get all the profits they ever wanted.

Left to continue reading "My Pet Goat" while the nation was under attack, why should we be surprised he is left to child's play when the economy is in crisis?

Bush should've beeen impeached a long tine ago by the House and Senate for
gross and reprehensible negligence in the way he reacted to and handled things
after the 911 attacks and the way he reacted to and handled things while the citizens
of New Orleans were drowning and left homeless for many, many days before a US
taxpayer funded, disaster relief agency would lift a finger. Remember how proud Bush
was of Brownie?

That is what Bush has reduced the entire country to, as in a bankrupt, former power, which is quickly becoming irrelevant in the world.

Strange how he's most shining moment during 9-11 was his reading of "MY PET GOAT". He sat mouth breathing and slack jawed while the plans were carried out in NYC. Bush is not a president. He is a puppet for the Military Industrial Congressional Judeo Christian Complex.
Obama is not perfect but what a relief he'll be. Let's bury what's left of the Bush administration by going on a buyers strike. My friends and I are buying only food and essentials until Obama's sworn into office. Our money will be spent in his administration and will raise his numbers. Things are going to be very ugly in the economy after eight years of Reagan, the Clinton intermission and eight years of Bush no matter who is president. Batten down the hatches and save your money until January.
