I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Bush Home

Even with the GOP convention nearly two months away, some in the Republican party are already worrying about how to handle the presence of President Bush, who is scheduled to speak on the opening night of the event, the New York Times reports:

This year, of course, Mr. McCain is trying to escape from Mr. Bush's shadow. Most Republicans say Mr. Bush should play whatever role Mr. McCain wants him to. Some, like Representative Dana Rohrabacher of California, simply wish Mr. Bush would keep out of it, though few would say so openly.

"I don't think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention," said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration. He said the president "should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off."

Yes, Bush should stay home where he can clear the same brush again that he has for 8 years. (Check the footage - it's always the same log and he's sawing it improperly!!)

However, we all know that he will hit the road to visit as many countries as he can in the next few months charging the taxpayers - under the rubric of international relations. Following the theory of relativity in this regard he will go nowhere fast!

He's actually looking for escape routes and safe houses for after he leaves the White House.

Let's have Bush show up and paste a 527 commercial showing him, McCain and Crist the future VP all on the same stage together. That would be monumental.

I hope he shows to the convention so there can be mass protestors from around the country. Hell I'll take a special trip to Minnesota to do my part.

Visit the GOP shrine in the men's room at the airport too. Leave flowers and a pair of shoes at a photo of the good upstanding Senator. Did he ever really resign?

Unless the Rethuglicans want to be branded supreme flip-floppers (ie, they were for him before they were against him), they need to stand by their man. For more than 6 years there was nothing the Rethuglican-controlled Congress would not let him do; he was their guy and they supported him in everything of substance.

If the Rethuglicans turn their backs on him now, it will be nothing less than open acknowledgment that they were completely wrong for the last 7+ years. Of course, if they don't, it will make the Congressional power pendulum swing in 1994 look gentle by comparison.

I'm gleeful that, for once, it's the Rethuglicans who have the "heads-we-lose, tails-you-win" choice to make. I look forward to a bit of figurative fratricide over it.

The repubs should be happy, Bush won the election for them twice, but will lose it for them for the next 6 if we have our way.

Don't be so sure... do not underestimate the ignorance, bigotry, and sheer stupidity of the vast majority of Americans.

Here's an idea. Why not bring him out in an Al Gore mask and have him pretend to be a Democrat?

Not only stay home but pull his head out of his ass and start breathing in some fresh air. Or just stay home and count the days and hopefully we'll only see him after he is convicted and incarcerated for his pathetic behavior.

And "a thousand points of light," as his mommy and daddy hold hands as they all join together to show just how much they really don't have time for anyone else. Too bad the Bush clan ever had a hand in being part of this country in any way or another. They certainly have made it clear the have no integrity and have no problem having others step in to try to clean up after them.

I think the Bushes and the Cheneys have proven that Big Oil and Big Oil Money rules this country. Their entire lives and fortunes are built on oil.

I want him to be there as a symbol of what they're going to try and foist on us for another 4 years. It's only fair. GWBush and McCain should re-enact their big hug. That should make things clear enough, even for those who still buy McCain as a rebel, as someone who has told GWBush where to get off ... as his current campaign ad states. The truth might just set us free.
