GOP Rep: Bush "Should Stay Home" During Republican Convention

Even with the GOP convention nearly two months away, some in the Republican party are already worrying about how to handle the presence of President Bush, who is scheduled to speak on the opening night of the event, the New York Times reports:

This year, of course, Mr. McCain is trying to escape from Mr. Bush's shadow. Most Republicans say Mr. Bush should play whatever role Mr. McCain wants him to. Some, like Representative Dana Rohrabacher of California, simply wish Mr. Bush would keep out of it, though few would say so openly.

"I don't think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention," said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration. He said the president "should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off."

As of last night they still couldn't get enough volunteers to help out at the Republican convention.
They still need about two thousand more. Contrast that to Denver were they have ALOT of volunteers.
I think they will have to pay the volunteers, no one wants to help any Republican for free.

The activists can't even get close enough to the convention center to make a difference. A couple have filed lawsuits.

I hope they have to pay the activists to be the volunteers and then we'll see a convention worth watching.

Then watch Obama give his acceptance speech to a packed stadium of 75,000. We here in the Northwest watched him speak at Waterfront Park to a crowd exactly that large. it was the most amazing thing I've seen in a long while.

I would argue that to continue to respect Bush and the office he holds, at this point, with what we can now say was nothing more than a manufactured war for supreme control of the Iraqi oil fields and profiteering for the energy conglomerates and all of their subsideraries, we would be acting with horrible manners. To be silent while he has usurped the Constitution with willful acts of greed for power, would be extremely ill-mannered.

Who decides in a free society what is good and bad? The people decide. HuffPo may have forgotten who it is that drives the Huffington Post and makes it possible to operate and sell ad-space. The people who support this site through active participation. I believe exposing "bad deeds" using any words is well worth the risk of offending the less objectionable. The posters here will collectively decide through participation, or lack there of, what is bad and what is not.
